So America gets a lenticular Steelbook but no 3D!? A bit of a strange combo!

I dont think the card was meant for the steelbook. It is not clear what you get if you pre ordered and got the card. No where on it did it say you will get the exclusive steelbook. My guess is that the steelbook is a stand alone item and the lenticular card gets you something else. I could be wrong but based on how fast and furious 6 has been handled, this one is more than confusing. I personally have yet to pre order anything till I have a better understanding of what is on offer. Other editions with 3D are just more appealing to me so may pass on this unless the wifey gets me one :ohno:

Well I was thinking that seeing that the lenticular is a MAGNET it would be ideal for metal packaging. Don't see why they'd make a magnet for an Amaray. If that was the case they could've just left it as a card. As I said before, all very strange. I'm sure all will be revealed soon.

Lenticular card is a pre order gift. Pre order gifts are not unusual here. They can be anything . I have seen bracelets and other collectibles. Who knows some may use it as a magnet on the refrigerator :hilarious: Not sure if the 2 are linked.

Just to add a little bit onto the random preorder incentives, Best Buy has a Assassin's Creed football as a preorder gift...

I'm so happy that I could cry right now! This is the artwork I wished for in the Man of Steel worldwide thread! Exclusive artwork... Steelbook fans, America has arrived! Thank you Wal-Mart!

agreed ! but i do think America has to be more consistent with the exclusive releases to be on the "steebook map"

if this remains to be the actual art (and exclusive), not even including the magnet it will be a step in right direction for the states.

It all remains to be seen though because we got zero dark thirty as our last exclusive a long time ago and there were no follow up :(

i find myself toddling back and forth on this thought, but.....

all the walmart man of steel offerings come with Vudu...except the Steelbook.

it seems to me that perhaps vudu isn't included with the Steelbook, because that was already given with the lenticular. or maybe to get the bonus Vudu with the steel, you HAD to preorder.

just seems odd they all come with Vudu sans the Steel.

Ultraviolet codes will allow you to watch the movie through VUDU. The artwork shows Digital HD, which is probably going to allow UV and iTunes redemption.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your concern?

I'm curious, why do you need the on demand thing if you have the blu ray?

For hardcore collectors, having the VUDU or On Demand code means they don't have to open their Steelbook(s) to watch the movie(s). Also many people in general have large collections of UV and iTunes codes for personal HD streaming or uses as gifts or to be sold. Having the On Demand copy also, in someways, future proofs your collection because you still will have something if your items are loss, sold, stolen, or damaged. (if collection is not insured BluRayJunkie Style that is! :naughty:)

I have a VUDU Collection of almost 100 FULL HD films. I'm able to stream directly from Ps3 and also other devices. As long as the UV or On Demand code is from a Bluray, in the US, it can be automatically shared and added to your HD VUDU collection regardless of agent or studio as well. ;)

Fair point and a good answer. I am so old I remember buying VHS movies,so the whole on demand thing just goes straight over my head lol ;)
