Best Hannibal Lecter (or Lecktor) film in the franchise IMHO

But as much as I'm tempted, the US release has better AV quality

Yeah like the TV show 'Hannibal' it's based on Red Dragon characters and is mainly about the character of Will Graham (the TV show is excellent). I don't recall Brian Cox having a huge amount of screentime in Manhunter but he certainly made an impression.

Thanks haye :thumbs:

I always turned my nose up at the TV show because i didn't like the casting of Hannibal... Might have to give it a go now ;)

Thats is why they made Red Dragon again to tie in with Silence. But I've never actually seen Manhunter before. Heard good things about it though.

This is great news, I'm in! I'm not really impressed with the artwork but it'll be good to upgrade my dvd and I hope they bring out red dragon and hannibal cause I've been waiting on them since silence got a steel. :)

As in the very best of the Hannibal films and no mistake!!! :)

The film is brilliant from start to finish, and even though Lektor is hardly in the film, you feel his presence ALL the time, such is the power and menace of Brian Cox's performance which makes Anthony Hopkins Lektor look very camp and ineffectual.

This has my name ll over it . . .

I have always loved this film, and I personally can't wait for this one. It's so effective, and a masterpiece by Mann, imo.

Is this based on the book Red Dragon?
Im sure people always compare this to The Silence of the Lambs but its actually Red Dragon...

Anyway, looks great... Aparently the performence of Hannibal from Brian Cox in this film is great and totally underrated due to Hopkins' performence in Jonathan Demme's film... Not seen it though so i can't comment :emb:

Brian Cox is fantastic but not in it a lot. I preferred the remake as I found the use of whire walls white staircases a little to much like Miami Vice.

@denizen and @Flash

Well worth a watch for a diffrent take on the franchise. A little long and see above :rolleyes:. Cracking soundtrack though.

May be a order first cancel later for me :ohno:.
