It's a series about all sub genres of metal. Never seen it myself but heard very good things about it, it's meant to be really in depth.

Far as I know, this hasn't had a blu-ray release as of yet (I was gonna get it on release but only DVD was available).

For me as a thrash/death metal I found it a frustrating american eyed view of metal
Looks a nice steelbook tho I'm sure I saw a DVD steelbook of this which looked good too

This got a dvd steelbook a couple months ago in Canada, so its highly likely this is a steelbook as well.
