Thanks, that would be really helpful, I'm still considering getting the steelbook plus the 88 films release it is locked
So I can confirm that you are indeed correct. Just gave it a spin on my region B Panny player and This is in fact region free.

I also tried Mill Creeks 'I know What You Did Last Summer' and that is also region free. Despite both these films stating 'A' on their discs.

I also have Hollow Man steelbook from Mill Creek but I haven't opened that one yet!!

Quick question, does anyone know how this stacks transfer wise compared to the recent 88 Films release here in the UK.

The old Universal disc was VC1, the Mill Creek was a similar transfer but used an MPEG4 AVC encode, I think they look identical and I struggle to see the difference. According to various reviews the 88 films transfer got a high score and apparently trumps the other two, plus it has the best special features worldwide.

I'm tempted with that 88 myself, booklet looks nice too but I'm holding out for a 4k.

I got the 88 Films version but I missed out on the limited edition stuff, once I saw I could pick this up cheap I figured I'd get it and swap the 88 disc into it.

From what I've read there won't be a 4K release due to the way MV was shot, apparently 88 announced a while ago that they were doing a 4K but then cancelled it and said it'd be 1080p only due to source restrictions.

That made me wonder why we have a 4K of Collateral but then I realised that only the night shots were HD video with the remainder being 35mm so I guess that's why they did for that one.
