Which game do you think you'll fire up first mate? I think I'll probably go with Donkey Kong, since I literally haven't played that one since I was a kid and remember loving it!
Same here mate, it will probably be Donkey Kong or Castlevania! I haven't played those for many years! I'm interested to see how they look on a bigger screen! I think last time I will have played them on a 12" screen or something! Lol!:hilarious:

I never played Castlevania, but have heard a lot of great things about it over the years. There's actually a lot of games on there that I never played but am really looking forward to finally checking out!

Haha same here dude... I remember convincing my mum to let me hook my SNES up to the main TV in the living room once, which was still probably only 20", but back then it felt like a cinema screen compared to my portable TV.

Haha yeah TV's were a lot smaller back then. I bet it felt awesome on a 20" screen! :D I have played most of the games but I'm sure there are a couple I haven't played before! Castlevania was great! Ghosts and Goblins is another good one! I'm looking forward to reliving some old memories!:)

Sad thing is, the TV I use now is only 27", which seems to be tiny compared to what most people have nowadays. I don't think I've ever played Ghosts and Goblins either... literally the only ones I do remember playing from the list in the OP are Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros (all of them), and Pac-Man. I've never even played Zelda before! :bag:

Yeah TV's have gotten bigger fast. I think the prices have crashed and they are just trying to tempt you to go bigger all the time! Zelda is good mate but I never got into it like everyone else did. It took too long from what I remember! Too many quests! Lol! I was more into Sega myself. I had the master system, Alex Kidd, Columns and Sonic! There were some great games!:)

Yep, and bigger doesn't always necessarily mean better either... I honestly think the PQ looks worse on some bigger TVs. I literally know nothing about Zelda, apart from that it's got a huge following... I'll obviously give it a go once I get the NES, but it never really sounded like my sort of game to be honest. I was more in to Sega too mate... was a huge fan of Sonic, and also loved Alex the Kid!

I agree mate, I always thought the PQ of the old CRT TV's was spot on. They had been out that long that they had mastered the technology, LCD's are good but you still get a lot of issues with blurring that you never got on the old sets. They did used to be massive though! Lol!
I played Zelda on the N64 mostly but I'm guessing it will be similair on the NES. A lot of quests and searching for items. I prefer my games to be simpler and more action packed!:D

I cant wait for this, up until a few years ago I still had a nes.we had a flood in the loft due to our lovely old boiler breaking, I lost my nes, snes, master system, megadrive, n64 and dreamcast.

I too remember playing this on a 20" tv, them were the days.I bought a new tv this week, so playing these games on a tv 3 times the size that I used to will be special and mind blowing.

I'm going to get my younger brother round to play double dragon 2 just as we did when we were kids.

Currently back in stock at Amazon UK, but it may just be a few cancellations going up, so be quick!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IFJEWTM/?tag=hidefnin-21

Unfortunately I had to cancel my own order, as I rarely even play on my PS4 now, let alone any other console, so I figured I'd use the £50 for something else instead... steelbooks no doubt. :p

Not long to wait for the rest of you though!

I know exactly what you mean @Noodles , I've rarely been playing my PS4 too. Strictly Netflix, Hulu, and blurays. But I really DO want to get this Mini NES! Have my hopes Best Buy will have them for sale on Friday! :woot:

Yeah, I just haven't been in a gaming mood much lately... I've even put Tomb Raider and Battelfield 1 on hold, despite them both being great games. Like yourself, I'm all about watching movie after movie at the moment... no doubt I'll go back to gaming sooner or later though. :)

Fingers crossed for you with Best Buy buddy... I hope you manage to pick a NES up and have hours upon hours of fun with it!

I was sooooo pissed on Friday.... tried to pick up one but of course, only scalpers were able to get theirs.... already more + 100 on local listing here and even more on EBay.... for 4-5x the price...

Such a disgrace (again) by Nintendo for creating such a false big demand....

If you're still in the market for an NES Classic Edition, you'll want to redouble your search efforts pronto. Nintendo of America announced that it has officially discontinued production of the pint-sized gaming device and the last shipments for North American territories are on their way to retailers right now. Here's the official statement, as provided to IGN.

“Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year. We encourage anyone interested in obtaining this system to check with retail outlets regarding availability. We understand that it has been difficult for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. We have paid close attention to consumer feedback, and we greatly appreciate the incredible level of consumer interest and support for this product.”

A Nintendo representative added that Nintendo never meant for NES Classic Edition to be "an ongoing, long-term product," though it did manufacture more shipments than it initially planned. In other words, sounds like Nintendo intended for NES Classic to be a holiday 2016 phenomenon (it was) then made a few extra batches after that to satisfy some of the continuing craze.

NES Classic Edition was a massive success for Nintendo so I wouldn't look at this as a mysterious disappearance from the adorably undersized retro console market. Nintendo may be taking this chance to rethink the product in light of its popularity and come back with new-and-improved versions somewhere down the line. That's my assessment, anyway, we'll see how it bears out in the months ahead.
