Damn, i think im gonna miss this. I have it on Pre-order but my credit-card is maxed-out so i guess they will eventually cancel my order.... hate these releases at the end of the month! :(

:offtopic:

I know this is somewhat off topic, but maybe someone can shine some light on something for me.

I've pre ordered this Ghost Protocol from play (My first ever pre order) and this week someone's hacked into my account, gone and stole my credit card details and run up a huge bill online. Obviously my bank has cancelled my card and will issue me with a new one. But I'm not sure if I will have that new card by next week. I'm afraid Play will go to process the order, as it ships next week and will be unable to (as the card I used no longer exists) and then cancel the order altogether. :(

Has anybody ever had any experience like this? Is there any point in e-mailing Play and explaining? I don't want them to cancel the order only for them to re sell it to me again for the €33.99.

Just my luck. My first pre order and this happens

Hey BluSteel, that's really unlucky about your card.

I can't see that there would any harm emailing Play to explain what has happened. They might be able to delay the charging of your order so that you don't have to risk cancelling it and miss out. I would do it sooner rather than later though as it isn't long before they would be sending out the orders. If you were changing your card details then they would probably just hold the order anyway so hopefully it won't be much different in your situation.

In my experience there will be more available on day of release but X-Men and ROTPOTA didn't last for very long last year when they were re-listed, but thought I would mention in case you need to keep an eye out for it.

Hope you get your copy!

The exact same thing has just happened to me...I rang Play and they said as long as the card details on your account are from your new card by the time they try to take payment then all pre-orders will still be live. I did email them before this and they stated that if they are unable to take payment (i.e if the card does not reach you in time and you can't change the card details into your account) then the order would be cancelled :(.

I'd give them a ring and see if perhaps, if you don't have your card in time, they could perhaps give you a day or two leeway (like HMV do) as for some reason the guys on the phone seem nicer than the ones who answer the emails.

A possible alternative is to change the Credit Card if you have more than one or use a debit card, just make sure sure it's one that's acceptable to them. But the important thing is to email them and keep them informed.

Just update your debit or credit card and you will be ok :)

Thanks to every one for your help guys. Especially Grapey and Surfury. :thanks:

I e-mailed Play but am still waiting for a reply. However, my PIN number for my new credit card came in the post today so the card should follow tomorrow. But I have changed over to a debit card that I also have for now just in case. :naughty: (Thanks for that idea Surfury, I would'nt have thought of it! D'oh! :emb:)

Hopefully that should be enough for now so that they can take their payment. Thanks again for the help guys

Now, back to Ghost Protocol!! :oohyeah:

Really curious about the status on this one.
Release on April 30th? On page 13 I saw someone posting an 'in stock' status... what's up with that?

My status still says 'order placed', but the item seems to be OOP.

I think you're getting a bit mixed up. The status showing 'in stock' was someone purchasing it as it was briefly available last week for a higher price, so the screenshot is of the item in their basket. The reason our pre-order statuses have changed to 'order placed' is because these will be dispatched some time in the coming week.
