Can someone give me some quick tips about printing?

I found the tutorial someone posted for Gimp and the template and it was very helpful. I edited the artwork and saved it as a .png file. I opened it with Windows picture viewer (XP) and made sure I did not have it fit to frame. I printed it out and it looked okay. When I put in the steelbook there was a lot of extra space, like it wouldn't fit snugly. Is it something I'm doing or is that how it's supposed to be?

It sounds like you did everything right. When I print mine and get the images cut and go to place them into each of the shells there is about 1 to 2 mm smaller than the interior of the shell. This gives you some play to get it lined up just right with the center (spine) image. Once you place the plastic insert back into the shell over your image you won't be able to see the 1 to 2 mm extra space next to the edges so it works out perfect. I hope this helps.

I took a bunch of artwork to a staples store to get printed. Specifically asked them to uncheck fit to frame, and went to pick em up today, they were all stretched to the full size of the page..

Ask them to change the image to a pdf first. That way it should keep the correct size and aspect ratio. That's how I have them print cover arts for me at Office Max.

Hi all

Does anyone know of a cheap 3 disc blu ray steelbook? I got LOTR and I got a fellow member gave me the jumbo case for free (with a steel I purchased from them as jumbo has a few marks), and I'm thinking to slim it down.

Ideally I'd love to purchase just the inside but nowhere sells them so perhaps buying damaged 3 disc blu ray steel I can then use the inside and bin the damaged metal.

I'm going again tomorrow and hopefully someone a little more useful will be working. If I had asked this one to make it a pdf her head would have exploded. I think all she knows is right click, print.

Thanks for the reply. It's definitely more than a few mm. Even after putting the disc holder back in I can still see the bare metal. I tried it with two different printeres with the same results. I'll try to upload pictures soon.

You can try fitting picture to frame and see if that helps.

Anyone know cheap easily available 3 disc steel? I recieved my Battle Royale and it's split in 2 at the spine. I need to replace it.

It's not perfect but I fully modified my LOTR trilogy. I've slimmed it down to save shelf space and as the normal artwork was boring I've added different artwork:

Its not perfect but I actually like it. Plus it looks great in movie style slip:

I love the subtlety of number 1 but there is a lot of dark space

This is my first ever attempt at modding a spine. I took it real easy this time. If I grow a pair, I may try slimlining my UP steel. I took my FS DVD Hulk steel spine, trimmed it and replaced my spine slashed play steel.
