Just a word of appreciation to Tony.

Today he replied to my e-mail I've sent him last monday to confirm the name which should go on the Student Card.
And also if I wanted to keep my side-order 'White House Down'.

So many thanks to Tony for all the effort

i got answer from tony, but he's not answering my questions at all... reads more like an auto-generated or copy/paste email...

"We are so sorry that the Monster Unv. has been sold out.
*
Please use the HDN Group buy.

Tony

And the Numbering is random."

not very pleased.. i understand that mr.kimchi is busy and stressed now... but it seems he did not even read my questions. :-(

Im sad to say I feel the same way alot of the issues have been skipped over
and come the GB more disappointment as a huge amount will miss out again

Out of interest, what did you ask him?

As we all know, he is incredibly busy at the moment, so he's probably piling through emails - Choi has already posted he's received 300+, plus whatever has arrived since. I don't blame him for not having time to properly compose a reply to everyone.

I feel that kimchi should not be offering something if it has problem handling it. Even without the latest ordering fiasco, the offer to customize the names on the student cards would have generated hundreds of emails alone.

And there is a dedicated email address for that to keep it separate from BAU emails

There is NOW, but there wasn't when the pre-order first went live. Hence the deluge of emails to Tony about that, the problems people had ordering and the fact people had to order/wanted to cancel extra items.

I loved the last two Kimchi Disney steels, and ordered this one too, but I do feel like they were all rushed out in a very short time frame (along with Le Grand Bleu) which has probably not helped the situation when a problem like this arises.

I agree the recent timeframes have been very short, not helped by the delays to LGB, but all of those should have been out of the way now, allowing Tony to concentrate fully on this.

And yes, they were late with the new email address but I doubt they were expecting the problems they had (even though its happened before) and would have thought Tonys email address would suffice.

At least they did the right thing in setting up a new email address purely for card customisations, and left Tonys for all other emails. That at least reduces the number of new emails Tony has to consider.

Personally I think Tony was very slow to act when the problem occured. He should have put a hold on all ordering as soon as it first appeared, and cleared it before allowing orders to start again. He's made so much trouble for himself now having to cancel extra orders, refund paypal, sort out how he's going to refund partial credit card orders if the person doesn't want store credit, etc.

Plus people are naturally going to be concerned that this will happen again with the next Kimchi exclusive.

I suspect it only happened with this Kimchi release due to the very, very limited numbers. The fact that Tangled and Monsters Inc still have copies left shows that the bedlam here was purely down to the perceived scarcity of the product.

Considering people could buy a few copies I'd be surprised if more than 100-150 people didn't end up buying the 460 copies that sold. So if future releases have a higher print run I think Kimchi should be fine when it comes to handling it.

Personally I didn't ask for them to refund the extra item I ordered as I think it will look pretty cool (House of Flying Daggers digibook) and will work on my player so it's win win. Plus, I'm happy with the quality of the products they sent me so far and the packaging, so I'm prepared to take the hit and help them out by not adding to the pile of emails.

"KIMCHIDVD ROCKS!!!!!"

People are selling their organs to get one of these from KimchiDVD, rather than the other half dozen releases of this title, much less the opportunity to get a personalized card.

They're crapping their pants, chewing their nails down to the nubs, because they can't wait to get these beauties in their trembling hands!

Tony will continue to separate KimchiDVD from the lazy, garden variety, eTailers, by offering unique, sometimes very limited, special, one of a kind, sometimes numbered editions with extras out the ass, when possible!

I love reading the endless, meaningless questions and whiney complaints.

Keep kicking ass Tony, being a smart, innovative businessman, and delivering the impossible to those that demand the best and something different!

This is the second Golden Age of Blu-ray Steelbooks, and I'm going to enjoy and relish it for as long as it lasts!

Damn, I've seen Choi come here and ask people what they want, and if it's something cool, popular, and doable... executed amazingly by Tony!

For the impatient, cheap, whiners... there's eTailers giving their crap away for Free or practically free.

For those that want truly collectable quality, amazing service/packaging and shipping, there's KimchiDVD! :oohyeah:

Folks, as always ebay links with high prices, items to be discussed and the like belong in the trading forum threads, not here.

Thanks

I wonder if he managed to obtain one in the first place, because he also has the Godfather (Pre-Order) for sale while that one is not even available yet.

I've dealt with him quite a few times - he has family in China who get the items for him.

Anyway, hoping I can manage to get onto the GB tomorrow :)

That is frustrating

Sorry, Andy, but mnementh is always whining about people listing steel books for jacked-up prices and then lists his as jacked-up or more than the ones he's complaining about. :p
