I ordered this because it is Disney and if and when this sells out, the going rate will be higher than the current asking price. With that said, I completely understand the argument of wanting more for your money. I did hear from a friend though that this one is disappointing to Monsters Inc. I may cancel for that reason actually.

I didn't like the Cars in the first place. Just couldn't suspend my disbelief for that one. I like most of the others, but in my opinion, even the best of Pixar can't beat the best of Disney's animated features. What Pixar has done is take the best of the Disney and Warner Bros formulas and then paid attention to contemporary cinema. It would be great to see Pixar take some real risks again. That said, Monsters Inc is probably my favourite Pixar film. I'm really looking forward to Monsters University though I do not really expect it to have the depth of the original.

With all the recent sequels, I get the impression that Pixar have run out of ideas or would rather just go for the safer option :(

I enjoyed Monster Uni but yup, it doesn't come close to the original or Pixar's finest. Toy Story 3 was their last great but I'll still pick this up. It's somewhere in the mid-range for Pixar.

Ignoring the content/pricing controversy for the moment, the actual art is ok, not stunning but sometimes "less is more".
Be interesting to see what Blufans come up with though.

my german steelbook of the first monster inc is a 2 disc set with hell of a content and a super colourfull glossy finish which costs me only 10€ by the way. this right here would look really poor next to it, way too plain with the white background.

hope the blufans and german one have better artwork and more content.
A super glossy finish, printed back, no inside art, no 3-D copy, and a low price because it's 18 months old and still not sold out - hardly a fair comparison.

The background of 'University' will almost certainly be shiny bare metal. It looks white on the mock up / proof because there's no artwork.

So, if it's not up to scratch, rather than not buy it, you steal it?

I know so many ways in which companies steal from costumers, but because they do it using the legal way, it makes it right.

I think it's **** that this does not include the 3d disc, so what do I do?

I simply don't buy it.
The main reason I buy movies is because I want to have something you can't get "online for free", the extras, the cover, the whole package that make the purchase special.
Netflix, LoveFilm, .... or even free, there're plenty of places to can get the movie for a lot of cheaper, and when I want to buy something, I look for the whole package. I want to feel that I have got as much as I can from the movie.

Otherwise, this year you get the 2D version steelbook, next year Zavvi will decide to re-release a different steelbook with a different cover with 3D included, so the same people who spent money on this version will buy the same movie again.

I buy another version that does. Any thief will find means to justify their actions, but it doesn't make it right.

Right and wrong is subjective right?

The thing is they're doing the wronge sequels, who thought 'we need another cars or monsters inc' when incredibles is still a thing. That film is the only one that I personally think would benefit from a sequel.
