You have to remember they add postage into the cost so 2 copies at $20 and shipping on top will take it over the £15 limit. If you paid VAT on the postage you aren't supposed to get hit though?

There must have been a mistake. Either customs got it wrong or Amazon have marked the package incorrectly. The £15 doesn't come into effect unless the goods are over £15 in which case VAT is charged on the total amount.

Did you put them on seperate orders and mark them as gifts? Thats what i always do and never get charged. As for damaged ones, contact amazon.ca amd tell them. They usualy send you another for free.

I have ordered more expensive items and got lucky with those

So not fussed about paying it but annoyed that arrived damaged

i remembering ordering kill bill, kill bill vol 2 and memento from amazon ca, 2 of which arrived damaged due to the fact they were rattling around loose in the packaging, plus i got stung with import duty charges!!!!
i tend to avoid amazon ca as a rule and can't really recommend their packaging due to previous experience.
on a more positive note, this steelbook is much nicer than the german edition and definitely worth picking up!!!

Watching Skyfall reminded me about this film and I wanted to watch it again but in Blu Ray - so thought might as well get the steelbook at a good price

my j card wasnt even stuck on .. was prepared with my glue removal kit .. furniture polish and cloth .. but it just fell off ... its one of my more unique steels .. i like it

I got mine from amazon.ca a few days ago, it was damaged. So they let me have it for free and then sent out another free of charge, which arrived today. Erm well put it this way the replacement looked more like a banana than a steelbook! Can't moan about the customer service, but surely it would be more cost affective for them to just send the item in a box rather than a bubble mailer, instead of giving you damaged ones for free.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread.

This was one of the first steelbooks I got way back when.....

I watched this again last night and had forgotten how much I loved this film. Excellent performances all round too. Especially Tommy Lee who I'm not the biggest fan of. The DTS-HD track is decent also. Especially that shotgun with the suppressor!

I think it's a crime that none of the Coen bros films have ever gotten a deserved premium steelbook release up to now
