Looks dodgy. Where is the shiny finish? Mine should be delivered this evening. I really really hope this Steelbook is full gloss to reflect the colors and not murky matte .

Prepare to be disappointed then mate... the only thing that is glossy are the two people at the bottom and the 'Oldboy' text. I'm not too sure what they meant by the neon lights having a special effect either... it all looks normal/matte to me. Still, it's a fairly nice steelbook... but definitely not a contender for steelbook of the year though IMO.

The whole area around Choi Min Sik is very shiny and the pair of them are glossy. There is some gloss on the title also, much easier to see in person though.

The gun on the back is also very shiny, similar to The Raid SB.

Got to admit I am rather underwhelmed by the finish on this, was expecting to be blown over but I am not. Don't get me wrong it is a nice looking Steel just not the wow factor I was expecting.

Thanks mate. This sums up my current opinion of the Steelbook based on judging the Steelbook by it's cover. Anyways you have confirmed that it is not glossy which is disappointing.

Same here... I'm somewhat underwhelmed too. I think the fact that certain parts are glossy and really stand out kind of takes your attention away from the bling effect on the neon lights, which makes them appear less blingy IMO.

Personally, I prefer the Battle Royale steelbook over this one. Although, the art card is a nice little bonus which I wasn't expecting. And don't get me wrong... this is still a very nice steelbook! It's just not as good as I'd imagined.

From the pics it looks lovely. Not the best I've seen this year, but a million miles from some of the crap they've been churning out in other countries recently. So I will be happy when it turns up at my door

I take every steel on it's own merit. Never expected steel of the year from this one and Battle Royale is a tough act to follow but it looks worthy of a place in my collection
