does anyone know if this is the usual french release in that the english audio has permanent subtitles that dont remove???really want to watch this and will order if the subs can be removed

That's not usually too much of a problem any more. There's only TF1 releases and recently the Maniac that have had forced subs. The majority of Steels give you the option to remove them.
