The 3D doesn't bother me too much. I still think the cover is very good and the price is also very good.

I absolutely enjoy watching this movie at the IMAX. It's really good. It reminded me to all the japanese animation I used to watch when I was little.

I'm completely fine with the 3D title. It doesn't bother me too much, so I will be putting my order in soon. This is probably one of the most underrated films of the summer. I really enjoyed it.

And here folks... we see the glaring problem of the whole 3D marketing push.
They take a collectible steelbook and boast "3D" right smack dab in the center of the front cover.

A small note to the marketing geniuses who did this...

3D is supposed to enhance the movie experience, not become the movie experience.

If this movie was called "3D", then I'd understand, but it's not. It's called Pacific Rim.

I have this on order, but I am about 95% sure that I will cancel if that ridiculous atrocity remains as the focal point of this steelbook.

Ive no idea what all the huge fuss is about with a company printing 3D on the front of a 3D blu ray set. If im buying a 3D release i like it to be printed as such otherwise it just blends into the standards....

This is clearly a 3D release with the blu ray and uv copy included. If you want the standard release then buy the amaray with slipcase. We get hardly any 3D steelbooks so im greatful for any that arrive

I get what you're saying.

If a steelbook contains the 3D version then it's to be expected it'll be on the box. However, it's just another thing to clutter up the design when it could quite as easily go on the J-card. Just imagine if the BBFC/IRL certificates were still printed on the cases like they were in the old days.

Also, I don't need the 3D disc and as they're usually double-disc cases I like to take the 3D disc out and replace it with the DVD version. Something I can't (won't) do if it says 3D on the box.

I know, I'm not too thrilled about that 3D right there. On the other hand, it doesn't really bother me, either.

Note that this is becoming common practice with Amaray/Elite releases, e.g., G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3D (US), Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D (US), The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D (UK), Paranorman 3D (US), Wrath of the Titans 3D (UK), Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter 3D (US), Hugo 3D (UK), etc.

Why would the studios treat steelbook releases any different? ;)

Reactions: IRON MAN
Here's hoping the home video sales are very strong (this type of film usually does well on DVD/BD I assume), so that combined with the great international box-office, it gives Del Toro enough leverage to put a final Hellboy movie in motion — a boy can dream :).

Hellboy 3 and (much more important to me) At The Mountains Of Madness!

Don't like the 3D at all. If ES can produce an Into Darkness 3D steel without forcefully shoving it in your eyeballs the so can everyone. But as usual, if I order, I'll just punt the 3D disc on the Internet for a tenner!

But you still have the "3D" bit on the cover...that's why I'm considering cancelling as I really didn't want 3D that much.
