Not a fan of the 3D on the cover either. I'll preorder both this and the German one. If the German one drops in price, I'll cancel this one. If not, I'll cancel the German one.

If the US puts out a steelbook, I'll cancel both. :D
 
The 3D on steelbook cases doesn't bother me but this artwork looks better without the 3D! Would prefer it just on the spine for this release

I think the blue banner will be part of the j-card, as you said the uk doesn't add them anymore. (Apart from the Zavvi star trek re-release)

I agree. The j-card for Amazon's Star Trek Into Darkness folds over the top of the front cover in the same way, creating a blue banner look until you remove it (unless you keep your steelbooks sealed, that is!).
 
Not liking it. That fishing boat is really annoying me. Also, why bother those helicopters there?
I'll see what the standard US (slipcase)release is like, hopefully Walmart or whoever might get an exclusive as that seems to be the norm so far this year like WWZ etc.
