And here folks... we see the glaring problem of the whole 3D marketing push.
They take a collectible steelbook and boast "3D" right smack dab in the center of the front cover.

A small note to the marketing geniuses who did this...

3D is supposed to enhance the movie experience, not become the movie experience.

If this movie was called "3D", then I'd understand, but it's not. It's called Pacific Rim.

I have this on order, but I am about 95% sure that I will cancel if that ridiculous atrocity remains as the focal point of this steelbook.

This is exactly right. Seconding this sentiment. Why can't they understand such a simple thing...

They really did loose the plot with this design. There could have been some amazing art done for it but they decided to use a lame action shot like that and then ruin it further with a ugly 3D in the title.

May cancel it closer to the time if US brings out a cool version or I will just get the lenticular cover UK disc.

If they didn't mention 3D on the cover, can you imagine the amount of inquiries they'd be getting? Is the 3D disc included or not? The Amazon title says 3D but the cover does not...I'm ok with 3D showing. From a business stand point saves them customer service money, which can be better used else where. And it didn't bother me in Clash of the Titans either...all good!

You can see its 3D with the whole "Blu-ray 3D" blue band.
Thats on the cover shot and you dont need it on the actual steelbook also.

While I'm not too anally fastidious about such things.. Just the 3D logo at the top of the spine is enough to let people know it is the 3D version.
I'm quite pleased Entertainment Store had the sense not to put it on their exclusive's of Star Trek Into Darkness.

Exactly. Personally, if they just had the little 3D logo on the spine, I would be perfectly happy. It let's you know that it's 3D but doesn't spoil the artwork. No need to tack it on the end of the film title.

True pal, Entertainment Store showed how it should be done, tbh I'm just just glad we are getting more 3D steels these days :scat:

And the clear slip would protect it on the shelf too. Yep I've heard the concept mentioned before it's an awesome idea... if only
