The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

It's funny reading through this thread. I've got my single copy but I ordered then cancelled and used the discount code so there's potential for a fair few to reappear a few days after the chaos dies down.

A couple of observations.
Nowhere has it ever said live at 6PM (UK). This is a conclusion that the vast majority have just jumped to. An assumption that this would be the case based on previous releases. SO this argument for missing out is moot.
The customer limit approach being drudged up again. I've been on the side that's missed out before and have exclaimed this from the rooftops. At the end of the day the company is trying to make money. They couldn't care less who buys and how many or what happens in the aftermarket.

So, in conclusion. Take it like a man and try and solve the situation or cry like baby and whine till your hearts content. No difference to me.

PREACH!!!

Oh I'm really gutted that you missed out!

Maybe you can console yourself with all the digital copys you snag before everyone else ;)

Woot we all know you don't like me, of all the people that took multiple copies you have to jump on me...... boring!

And lastly I can order any number of any steelbook I like, as can anyone else and No one on this forum or anywhere else has the right to moan or vilify anyone that does.

I think you've got me confused with someone else, I've no idea who you are!

I ordered one but then canceled my order and re-ordered using the code.
Too be honest, I feel bad for canceling my initial order, cuz that way I could have helped someone else.
I usually don't sell stuff for profit but rather love to be an helping hand to others.

On side note - I hate cry babies. So you've lost this one - SO WHAT?! it's just a steelbook. I have lost many low print run editions that way and never cried about it.

There is a lot of upset in this thread. I am also disappointed cause I missed it but will have to just brave the ebayers :)
You can shoot me down but I do think with such a limited run that they should limit to 1 order per person. That would be fair

I really don't think cancellations will go back on sale. Aladdin didn't, they just put 500 odd on their ebay page, and incase anyone missed it... it says 'save £11.99' so this will probably be a touch over £30 if it comes back. at that price im not buying anyway :D

They stopped doing that after Aladdin putting a sold out pre order stock on zavvi-outlet I made a official complaint to Zavvi and ended up getting Aladdin for free as a result of my complaint I was called direct by a phone call
After Aladdin any future steelbook release that was a pre order that was listed as sold out on zavvi ,then any stock still available returned for sale on zavvi website and not zavvi-outlet most was customer cancellations or zavvi themselves cancelling orders and putting available for sale on zavvi

After release day arrives its not an issue as then I told them I don't have a problem were its sold but I do when its a pre order as all pre orders should only be sold on there Zavvi website
This is for customers benefit and you only gain from that as a customer

If any of this become available they will appear on zavvi website but with only 1000 limited release you will have to be quick or just plain lucky to get a order in when they become relisted for sale

Why should they? It's a capitalist market.
Yes, maybe it's an ugly thing to do, but that's the way it's always been.

just missed out got email of zavvi clicked on the link and says sold out now pissed me right off

Yes, that is upsetting when that happens-sometimes e-mail campaigns are scheduled or staggered, and then the item sells faster than thought, and it just doesn't get to everyone in time. I hope those that do wish to own the film, and missed it will have a chance through a cancellation or a Ninja:)

I did "snooze" literally. Was sleeping.

But if I had known when this was going live, I could have set an alarm. I didn't "snooze" because I'm lazy or don't care.

Anyway. Even though I totally missed it, I think it's nice to see a steel sell out so quickly like this. It's these kind of scenarios that keep the steelbook world alive and well!

I will keep an eye on this thread and for any updates about it coming back into stock, but I wouldn't be extremely upset if a PM appeared in my inbox from a US member that might consider sending an spare copy in my general direction.

I ordered two and you can have my extra if it doesn't come back in stock.

Offer also good for any long standing USA member that misses out if you want to pass.

Great post from Zoneism.

This will come back in stock. Many cancelled and reordered to use the 10%off code that snooloui gave us in another thread, and zavvi will need to sort it. As HDN members have stated, it's not real time logistic linked like amazon.

Again HDN is a real source of information. I suggest people used the thread tools at the top and subscribe to the threads with instant notification turned on. I know I do and that's how I found that this had gone live, because of the great HDN community posting on here to say that this had gone live.

The only thing that's worrying me is the release date. They will have to ship early because the last day for Christmas post is usually 18/19 th December. Plus with the double/triple capacity enforced on the Royal Mail system, 25 and 26 th are a Wed and Thurs so no post until Friday 27th.

With zavvis new revised packaging (non existant foam - it's too thin to cushion anything) I don't fancy this in the Christmas mail system with no protection. With only 1000, this is going to get messy people.

I'm very new to the hobby of collecting steelbook, and I'm an even newer ninja. However, in my short time on this site, I've met nicer, more willing to help others for nothing, amazing people than I ever have anywhere else. If you had taken the approach of being nice, civil and calm rather than griping and complaining about things not going your way, I guarantee someone here would've been willing to help you. And even still, you may be able to find that same help. Again, in my little bit of experience, fellow ninjas ARE that AWESOME. I just don't understand why some waste their time griping on the same forum that can be such a resourceful tool. I am fairly new, but I'm happy this isn't my first proverbial "rodeo" because it may have turned me away from the site altogether. I guess I'm just bothered when people are so quick to be negative ESPECIALLY if had this gone the other way for them (they were able to get a copy), they wouldn't be complaining about a limited release. Also, with this having sold so quickly, there's NO WAY that there won't be at least 2-3 other countries releasing it. Lastly, what makes hobbies so great and so much fun ARE the rare items. Those items that are so limited in production that when you get your hands on one, it's like a 2nd Christmas. I think everyone needs to remember this and keep it in account. I don't have a Canadian copy of Iron Man or an FNAC copy of The Dark Knight, but I'm not going to be upset about it. Do what EVERYONE else HAS to do when they don't get that specific copy they wanted and FIND ANOTHER MEANS!

P.S.- In no way am I trying to compare this steelbook to Iron Man or The Dark Knight, but that's even more to the point.
