The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

I'm more inclined to think it was the HDN Team working with Zavvi who had more influence on this situation.

I'm puzzled as to why Zavvi state in their T&Cs no more than 5, yet they do not enforce this via coding on their order page. As mentioned above, either enforce the rule, or don't have it.

Those people who had their orders cancelled - was the entire order cancelled ? Or down to 5, or down to 1 ? Were they even informed, or is there a potential that some people don't know their orders have been cancelled ?

By not enforcing their own T&Cs this has been a situation entirely of Zavvi's making. Kudos to them (and HDN) for resolving it, however I firmly believe it could have been avoided in the first place.

(Mods : If need be, please move this post to the reseller thread)

It's actually probably due to how their fulfillment system works.

If we remember play.com, they actually had to turn them off manually once they got close, as to not oversell. ;)

Has anyone actually seen this movie? It's awful. The true story would have been good but it was Michael Bay-ified to the extreme. Also, considering how colourful and stylish the cinematography is, the artwork for this steel is pants.

Amazed anyone would spend £23.99 on it, unless they were selling it on to an even bigger fool.

Will spend my pennies elsewhere :D

You do realize that they have made steelbooks out of multiple award winning movies like... :p

Glad I have seven accounts with Zavvi and was able to order 5 on each (joke). Seriously I hope people that were at work saw this and were able to get one. I know how crap I felt when my initial order of GI Joe went wrong and I thought I had to buy it on eBay.

The more I think about it, the less fussed I am by this movie.

Don't want to waste my pre-order by cancelling - what are the sites rules on having competitions for pre-orders? Obviously I wouldn't be able to guarantee the condition, so........

Any help would be appreciated. Plus, it would give those who missed out a chance for a free copy I guess.

If zavvi just made the drop down box only go to 5 then that would solve it.

Kudos to the mods for sorting the situation out with zavvi. The more of these that end up in collectors hands the better :)
