Chris...you do realize that you've spent enough money several times over on all these little hauls to afford most of your top ISO's, right?

Stop the petty crap and show me some Stouts!

Heck, Wreck dove right in and brought back Avengers AND Djanngo

I've had to stop buying. I took a look at my bank account after vacation and about died. :(

There is a theory in my head that does not make sense to most. $h!t, I feel bad for anyone trying to get in my head. :p

Buy prints I like & buy prints others like or are popular, but would hang myself if I had a warehouse (Plus, lots of practice on drops). Then as value rises (sometimes a couple seconds after purchase), I trade my way up to my ISOs. So, instead of $1000 for Stout's Inglourious Basterds, I end up getting it for half the price in trade.

This theory has yet to bear fruit, but when it does I will feel victorious and have a bunch of wrapping paper for the holidays.

I completely understand your theory. You have to be very picky though when you try that game. 99% of the prints released by Bottleneck, Ltd, Gallery 1988 and Heroes are "unflippable". The occasional Englert and Moss here or there are the rare exceptions.

Were these all Mondo prints you'd be golden. Or prints from well known artists from venues like DHM and Obey.

And I have sadly found out that most people actually don't want to trade. They want the money. I've only done one successful trade so far...Canus Dirus for Taylor's Gremlins (yes, I let my only Horkey go)

I agree, I was not picky enough at first and bought too many of films I like. Hence, the wrapping paper comment. :p

Yup, I've made a few trades but most people who have my top ISOs only want cash. From what I've seen, people go from collecting movie posters/prints and then onto "art" or obscure prints like Obey (Shepard Fairey), Mr. Brainwash, Horkey, Eelus, etc.. These things rise in value way quicker than Mondo prints, but cost 3x as much to start with. So, they try to sell off their old Stouts, etc.. to put money towards these other prints.

Just what I have found.

Thankfully I'm not actually a huge fan of Stout's work. I like it and would hang some of it, but all in all there are other artists I'd prefer to hang. The problem is he's the only one that has a decent print for wildly popular cult classics. Just take a look at his work for lesser known films. People can't get rid of Repo Men even below cost. Were there other alternatives, I don't think kill bill or IB would be as expensive.

Example...Taylor's drive one ups Stout's , and sells for more accordingly.

I think my number one iso right now is a toss up between Horkey's Pans labyrinth and Cooper's critters

I found this artist from the Boondock Saints newsletter I get from time to time. At the bottom they sometimes have fan art. I saw this sketch of Il Duce and had to find out more.

She did not even realize they used it and it was just a sketch she did and put up on her FB page. She does have a etsy, but the prints are not limited. Love her work, and had to have the Corbin Dallas. Love the expression on his face, and hey it has roses.

Anyway, she did a freehand sketch of the Il Duce and now has some up as an option.

Looks great Chris. There are some pretty talented but unrecognized artist's on Etsy and Society6. I find however DeviantArt is filled with a mix bag of copy cats though.

Yeah, you can tell the artists that have their own niche and the ones that are just following in someone else's successful shoes. It's not an easy arena to enter these days.

Quoting here "If X artists wiped there a$$ with French Construction Whitewash paper, it would still sellout in 30 seconds". Not me, but so true. :hilarious:
