I'm not that impressed with it mine, the colour's way off the mockup making it look much greener. Don't think the embossing's that impressive either, so I think it will get returned.

Yet another uninspiring matt finish steelbook from Fox then :eek:

What exactly has Fox got against doing a gloss finish every once in a while just for a change ??.

The stock photo in the original post has vivd colours and stunning artwork. The finished product is nowhere near as good. I'd have taken a non embossed steel with spot gloss any day. Its a shame to deboss the entire frame just to raise the very small title.

I think that's a key point. The overall look of this steelbook is worsened by the border and only a tiny amount of embossing. Fox really need to think about what they're doing a bit more rather than doing the same thing for every steelbook.

Don't see me ever buying this one, which is a shame.

Forgot I ordered this, these are becoming cookie cutter designs. Title + Emboss + Matte = Print

I think I'll be holding off on ordering till these come out for awhile.

The rest of the title is misaligned with the embossing, like 'Rocketeer', and so many other recent steels. I'm beginning to think that's why the OP lists "embossed artwork" not embossed title!

I received my copy yesterday (oddly I only received a handful of my Monday releases, but not others), and I'm not too happy about the printing. The printing around the embossed title doesn't line up very well, and it's off by quite a bit that it's instantly noticeable! I know that this occurs on some embossed titles, but I have never seen it so misaligned as this one!

I was just about to say exactly the same thing and this is what really lets this steelbook down, the manufacturer should have clearly advised the retailer/studio that trying to raise the letters "OF THE" will not work, on my copy at least the letters have jut blended into one blob and cannot be read properly. The art used is actually fantastic but let down by yet another debossed border, yet another mat finish, poor title work and different colours as advertised in the picture.

I don't know why a studio as huge as Fox couldn't use some of the brilliant poster art available-it just smacks of a lack of imagination and laziness!

One of my favourite films too, but the art put me off buying.

Wow what a flop, thank god I cancelled a while back and yes I will stick to my new strategy sit out and wait to see what these zavvi steelbooks look like before buying, pain and gain is the exception to the rule lol but everything else they have on the site no no no. This is a pass from the pictures I have seen colours just look washed out, matte finish makes it look dull and embossing terrible. All round dam shame love this movie as well. I will stick with my box set.

Now that I see the actual pictures of the steelbook, I'm definitely going to order this! I love this classic film. This steelbook will look great next to my Rise of the Apes!
