I used to pre-order online, but I've found that unless you order four or more items, they ship them in flimsy corrugated cardboard mailers. The steelbooks are too easily damaged. I prefer to pick them up in store if possible, but many times the store only gets 3-4 of each steelbook. So it's a lose-lose.

Never consider a steel from neither, since FutureShop closed it is not the same with BestBuys steels anymore, it just ain't... and Target I think they make nicer Exclusives with their Digibook or Fullslips. I just go straight for WWA or other country releases. I only buy Amarays and Digibook from north America. Sorry if I sound negative not trying to be.

I prefer to go in-store. I don't trust their shipping. Now sometimes with bigger release (ex marvel/disney) I'll do BB online w/ instore pick up.

@Wreck I order online for In-Store Pickup. That way they hold one for me in case it sells out, but I still have a chance to inspect it or swap it for another if there's damage.

I use the group buy as they don't ship international

If I could order direct I would especially if it was cheaper

For now I use the group buy option as it's my only option to use

When I order from Target I order 3-4 copies online so I can inspect them, pick the best one, and return the others in store. If it's a DC release I have a buddy of mine put one on hold for me, then pick it up in store.

When buying a steel from Best Buy I order for in store pick up, so I at least have a copy reserved, then go in store and try my luck to pick one personally. If they're out of stock I still have my reserved copy.

I go the GB route. Although if I am in the states I always visit a couple of stores to see what they have.

use @apsmith21 groupbuys for 2 reasons
1.quality steel provided
2.they don't ship internationally, but in all honesty much prefer andy looking over them than getting here with a spine slash, best buy shipping is not known for its quality i'm sure andy has to take some back. poor bloke

I'm from EU, so GB is the only option. Even in those cases, I rarely join them if an alternative is available from EU stores.
Though I might change this habit due to the arrival of title-less spines.

I do the same thing with BestBuy Canada
