To be fair, the gloss looks way better than the previous photos have shown off, and the black is a nice shade. The front is a bit boring but it's not bad, much better than ID4.

You HAVE to choose your language in the welcome screen otherwise no option to change once you get to the main screen. I've tested it and it does play in Spanish language etc

I was recently watching the film "Son of Rambo" on T.V. and my mind kinda drifted of, and a chain of thought came into my head and I thought would it be great if they release this in a Steelbook format. Zavvi has been reading my mind!

A blind buy for me as I never seen the film before, and watching that film made me want to watch the original film instead of a kid dreaming of being Rambo

Andy- I think £20 is a lot but if you got this from abroad, it would cost a lot more and as it's an exclusive, they may want to charge a premium. But yes as many others have said, £20 may be a tad expensive, £12.99 £14.99 may be more appropriate.../.

I can see how it doesnt work out such a bad price for people ordering abroad as Zavvi ship worldwide very cheaply, but for UK based collectors the price tag stings a bit. Guess we just got to comfy with Plays pricing.

yep I agree, and if this ends up selling well then I'm sure zavvi won't be afraid to try this again and may even add a few quid if they think they can get away with it, this doesn't look gd for future releases, zavvi obviously thinks if we're desperate enough then we will pay anything as long as it is a premium finish.

Zavvi are no mugs, they have seen the £ notes with Steelbooks and the huge demand for them.

I really wish zavvi would return to those play price points but they know people will pay it so there's no motivation for them to price things more 'realistically :(

They have essentially cornered the market as the only supplier constantly releasing titles, so they can charge what they want in essence. Still doesnt make it right though as in this instance, Entertainment Stores truely limited steels (1k) are only £7-8 more and there brand spanking news films, now thats not right.

Loos great, really hoping the knife and title is embossed/debossed. Would've preferred the the original title without Rambo. Price has to drop though, £19.99 is a joke.

Actually the reason Zavvi's prices are so much higher than play.com's were is that they offer ludicrously cheap international shipping. It's so cheap that's it not sustainable and I honestly believe that UK customers are shouldering those costs.

It's completely unfair but there's nothing we can do about it. I do find it annoying how those of you outside of the UK who benefit from the cheap shipping fail to see it from our perspective.

Clever sods, Zavvi. They're picking a lot of titles where other parts of the franchise have had steels of one sort or another, relying on collector OCD...

Igans316 is that you? :p

Seriously though I totally agree. 99p is completely unrealistic even for just one Steelbook. The few pounds that Zavvi are seemingly absorbing are just added onto the item price instead.

Wait - You were watching what? "Son of Rambo"? Is that a thing?

Absolutely, and as much as I may moan about it I'm paying £14.99 for several of their exclusives. Through gritted teeth which of course makes it all fine :p

'Don't Push Me' into yet another Zavvi Exclusive.

'They drew first steelbook not me'

Trautman: You sell that many steelbooks, don't forget one thing.
Teasle: What?
Trautman: A good supply of 'JIFFY' bags. EEK!

Rambo: We were in this bar in Saigon and this kid comes up, this kid carrying a Steelbook box. And he says "Steelbook, please, Steelbook!" I said no. He kept askin', yeah, and Joey said "Yeah." And I went to get a couple of beers, and the box was filled with Steelbooks, and he opened up the box, f**king blew his Steelbooks all over the place. And he's laying there, he's f**king screaming. There's pieces of Steelbook all over me..

Sorry I couldn't resist a few Rambo Gags..

Will buy this and probably the next 3 they release...

:hilarious:

Oh god, I'm crying.

I have mixed feelings about this - if the black background is done well and has a nice finish (not necessarily glossy), it could really enhance the glossy dagger making the front art special. If not, well... it could just be another run of the mill steel.

I like the movie, so I'm hoping for the former :)

Actually I think a full glossy front with embossed dagger would be better. The outside red area on WFRR is glossy with the middle part embossed/debossed and it looks superb. Also, the full gloss front would lower probability of paint chipping (important for that black area).

I agree... the finish on this could potentially make it or break it (for me at least). A black matte background with debossed/embossed glossy knife and text would be perfect IMO.
