In the past I turned down exclusives with record companies that even included in store signing and performance by the artist in person and some where big name stars but the amount of stock you had to agree to was very risky

The artist career can very often be in decline and I knew the album would struggle to sell and its usually when this happens you get an exclusive offered to you and its just not worth the risk

Back to the steelbook this is still a popular title and even with the artwork not been we would have liked its a release that will end up for real as sold out and I don't expect to see any if any price drops happen when this come back in stock

Its different when its less impressive back catalogue films even though some of them are still classics they end up with been reduced in price a lot
The majority of Wall-e and Ratatouille will be sold at the price it is now and if any do get reduced at later stage they wont be around for long period at a reduced price especially as they are limited to only 3,000

I do agree that these probably won't see a price drop but they are no where near sold out. Especially this one. And it's a shame because its one of my favourites but that front art is just ruining it

Maybe we could have a poll for this one title. See how many have ordered it, that might give some indication.

Sure, there will be cancellations nearer the time, but we're interested to see if it's sold out now.
That would not be very accurate as not all customers worldwide are members of HDN even though they should be :D
Lots of sales are with customers who might not even visited or know about HDN or even BD Forum
You also have lots of resellers who purchase from zavvi and they would not like to be known about here even though I know who some are and they are members of HDN

Zavvi sell worldwide so that's a lot of customers they have potential sales from

There are definatley two on here. One of them made it very clear in another thread a week ago which shocked me a little

You will see these come back in stock as there is always cancellations by customers and zavvi also do cancel bulk orders if they feel the need to especially when customers start giving out to been sold out

Zavvi will either make available stock before or after release date and as usual when live photos happen if the steelbook ends up looking better than we expect there is usually a rush to purchase

How long it will remain in stock after release date we will just have to wait and see as with previous releases they were 4,000 and this is 3,000 limited

They will only reduce the price if it has struggled to sell as you don't reduce the price if you have only have small amount available stock still to sell

The other steelbooks from likes of StudioCanal etc are different as their dealer prices are lot lower and they can afford the price drops and still make a profit and are titles that even though decent films are not as in demand as Disney is
Fox most of these are not exclusives and its fox offering the steelbooks at reduced price to shift stock and so far that only been with Zavvi as look at amazon fox steelbooks prices they remain high majority of the time

If this and Wall-E were the usual £20 like all the other pixar steels and then i would of got my 10% off. I would have ordered them because i enjoy the films and do not own them on blu-ray but no chance at the current £25

what you going to be hanging around for the zavvi 6 month price drop? suppose you may get it by the autumn then

That's cool with me. I already have it on Steelbook, so I can watch it whenever. I'll just quietly slip it in to my collection whenever the right price comes up. I'm in no hurry. I'm just happy to add such a great design to my Steelbooks.

Still cant believe that I missed this one, got out of my bed at 6.30pm and it was sold out. Going by this thread there was only going to be 5 people buying, lol. So is this zavvi's new policy of holding back stock for release day to screw over the scalpers, where the scalpers will have to hold onto there stock until zavvi sell the remaining 2000 copies?
