Bought this in 4K for my wife who, unfortunately, passed away in September 2025..
Was never much of a fan, personally, however, just endulging in a midnight viewing and I have to say, the 4K on this is outstanding!! I now have a whole new appreciation of why this movie is so respected, not just because of the superb transfer but also because of the 80's vibe which hasn't aged with this movie, which often isn't the case with other 80's movies..

I'm so sorry for your loss @leelee17 that must have been horrendous. I hope that in some way you're doing better now. Wishing you a happier 2026. :)

I'm so sorry for your loss Lee, I can't imagine how difficult that must be. Lost Boys is a fabulous movie and I'm sure your late wife's taste is unrivalled, if you bought this for her. I echo WildEyes sentiment. I hope 2026 can bring you something good. Keep keeping on x

This is a reference quality Dolby vision/Atmos 4K release. The sound design is absolutely outstanding and one of the best out there, plus it's a prime example of superb image detail in dark scenes...

Okay, one of my more questionable purchases but hey, it's Saturday night, it's easy viewing and, let's face it, it looks and sounds superb...(especially the Atmos)...
Sometimes a bit of mindless, trashy entertainment is what's needed so it serves it's purpose...

I remember enjoying this on a single viewing in early 00's. Questionable I was this time around; as you can't trust a teenage brain sometimes. However, I just watched the 101 Films bluray release & thoroughly enjoyed it, in fact revelled in at times. It's quite the romp & features a fantastic soundtrack, with plenty of notable cameos. The director sprinkles inspiration from Trainspotting & Lock Stock throughout, for this 18th century depiction of England. The dirty filthy feel of everything feels submersive & amongst some fantastic performances, chemistry & costume designs it allows for comedic/dramatic tonal shifts to become part of it's charm. Something which i think may have been misunderstood at the time, given this has a shocking 24% on Rotten Tomatoes. Even if this isn't your cup of tea, it's clearly a cult film now and reviews ranging from 1999-2005 are severely outdated and show just how films can sometimes be lost on closet minded film "experts". Would love to see a 4K restoration and some extra content. Liv Tyler, Michael Gambon, Robert Carlyle, Alan Cumming all brilliant, I could go on but it'd be pointless ;) for I'd list the whole cast. Surely a boutique picks this up? I also fancy there's a directors cut out there somewhere. Feel like they chopped some runtime in places but tbh I appreciate allowing the audience to fill in the filler and just bloody enjoy the good stuff! Added to my list of must watch each year for sure  A charming, fun, & well-shot time capsule into 90s British filmmaking.

Arrow or Umbrella all over this for a release surely?

Could also see Arrow, Umbrella or even Second Sight picking up Antonia Bird's 'Ravenous' from the same year.
1999 was a banger year for so many movies.
Similar actors from Plunkett and Macleane turn up in Ravenous too.
Late 90s still definitely had that Brit talent /Brit Pop vibe still going strong until it died off early 00s.
