You need to remember though, that custom covers often use images that the official companies haven't had 'signed off'. To do so would cost money and usually require many people to agree on their use. It would also take time and probably be a logistical nightmare.

There are hundreds of amazing Doctor Who custom DVD covers which blow the official releases out of the water. However, the BBC aren't about to contact those featured in the images (or their estates), or the photographer etc. and pay them additional royalties when 'any old image of William Hartnell will do' and sales would be the same no matter what.

I quite like the cover, even if like all their recent efforts it has that 'modern airbrushed look'. The only thing that really bothers me is the spine. Hopefully it's just green and doesn't have that border to it, that just looks odd. Even more so when no other Disney steelbook has one.
 
To be sincere I'm unsure about that green border, I would prefer without that border just the main art, but at least it will be glossy so that's a plus, I think.
 
The border is probably so they can emboss the title. I kinda like they are doing something rather than just an edge right through everything. Glossy is a major plus ++. I just canceled Alice because I have the slipcover amaray, there is no gloss and it's still available, so I'll wait for the in-hand pics. I won't be canceling Robin Hood. New release and glossy with great art (how could the art on this ever not be great?)
 
I'm loving the look of this! love the border and the back looks better than ALL of the previous Disney steels! I'll be grabbing it at 5:30 today :D
 
they went live when they initally put them all up with ? marks then marked them all sold out. so some did manage to pre-order earlier when this happened but should be available again 5.30pm tonight for this one.

Yeah they went up for a few hours. Usually happens with the question mark releases. Not sure if purposely or if they just forget to update their listings:
