4000, 6000, 10000 I'll add it to my collection regardless! I imagine for those who may at some point sell their collections knowing the exact number is nice for increased value potential. I'm just happy I have the opportunity to grab movies from my childhood to hopefully one day sure. ;)

Any idea why some of the Disney titles are still around then even though they were marked as sold out after three or four days?

Well I know for a fact on one title that was 4k and sold out had 1k in cancellations week of release. That's a large cancel rate.

In for 2, love this movie. Bought it an amaray last year when there was no hint of a steelbook.

looks good. Pre-orderd 5 Disney classics on steel waiting to be shipped to my house when released

wished i would have gotten Aladdin

I believe it. It's because of Zavvi's codes. If they would just make their codes available all the time, they wouldn't get so many cancels and reorders. They will still get a ton of orders at full price because many people just order 1 or even 2. But for those that order 3 or more and always place orders of £50 or more, they should be rewarded with a nice discount code for supporting Zavvi.

Also, they really ought to consider revamping their stock calculator so that cancellations immediately got back into the calculated remaining stock levels. That doesn't seem like advanced quantum mathematics. It's pretty simplistic to implement that.

Anyway it's nice to you are confirming this to be 4,000. Zavvi is making some improvement here and there, but they could quickly and easily reduce the amount of speculation and confusion by putting this info in the description and by changing that darn sold out before preorder even starts button. Just make it say "Not yet available for pre-order". Problem solved.

While at it, they should also fix the flawed dependencies of their web store on browser cookies that prevents the customers from seeing the "Sold Out" button change to "Pre-Order" at the time an item goes live.

Clearing browser caches and deleting cookies should absolutely not be necessary for the user to do. No matter what is the underlying technical reason, this is shoddy implementation.

It's great fun (?) to have three different browsers pointed at the same page (Robin Hood in this case, of course) and keep refreshing them. For me, one browser saw the "Sold Out" to "Pre-Order" state change immediately, but it took about 10 minutes of intermittent F5 for the two other browsers to catch up (and I explicitly didn't clear any browsing state information, wanted to see how long it takes).

It's good that there workarounds for this bug in Zavvi's system, but it's not really funny when you are trying to get your order in like... now! ;)

I hear you, David :) Just needed to get that off my chest, feel a bit better already

Based on the posted artwork, Robin Hood looks like it could be one of the best releases in the Disney Collection steelbooks so far.

Gawdammit, couldn't help myself but to order this title. Its that green and gold combo, so I'll risk it. But I swear, if they cover up 3 of the 5 characters with that nasty ugly plain slip, that'll be it for any future Zavvi Disney releases. When are people gonna apply some common sense over there.

Good point  Disney / Zavvi need to revert back to that 1/8 slip

I would put it down to the popularity of the film itself first and how good the steelbook looks second.
I hope they don't sell out for quite a while as I am missing 3 already.

Awesome artwork, as much as I love the Junglebook steel I don't know why they couldn't have done the same as this one and use a piece of original artwork from the movie on the back, looks nice!
