A decent projector It can cost less than purchasing a 4K TV
There are a good few 4K projectors available now that cost less than €2000

You don't need a huge room to use a projector you just need the wall space

Watching a film at home on a 120/150 inch screen at home lot better experience than watching on a 55/65 inch tv
Projectors for home cinema is a fantastic experience. I got a used Benq w1700 for almost nothing on the second marked and I would love to upgrade to the w2700 some day. The W1700 has many more lamp hours to go and upgrading is not cheap!

There is a need for a dark room and HDR is better on a tv screen. So for many people a projector may not be the first choice.

Lot of the good 4K projectors now use led or Laser with 25,000 hours of use no need to be purchasing replacement lamps

Laser projectors used to be very expensive but that changed since 2021

A lot has changed with projectors in last 2 years
Some can be used during day time with quality image
You always of course will get best image in a dark room

I'm saving up at the moment for a laser projector to replace my existing Sony Projector
