Fox UK ordered the steelbook (Same artwork all of Europe) but did not notice it would be a problem for UK or it was to late to change it when they noticed the difference

same artwork like rest of europe? the only countries i know where this gets a release are UK, hong kong and czech rep....

sounds like a shared print-run to me, this might indicate a limited print!?

A glossy turd is still a glossy turd, spine and artwork are shocking but...I would rather have a crap steelbook than an amaray.

If I find it too hard to deal with puting it on the shelf the wrong way then I'll just take the disc out and swap the DVD out from my other Robocop steel.

Normally I agree about steelbook over amaray, but not with the reverse spine. It bugs the hell out of me!

Is there any chance this was delayed to fix the spine? :ohno:

No, retailers already have stock and Sainsbury's have dispatched theirs. It's been delayed until just after the UK cinema release of the remake for marketing reasons.

Im in two minds on this one cos of the spine. I just know that it will irritate me.

What are peoples thoughts in the UK in the spine? Are you guys ok with it?

i hate it,my Inglourious basterds german steelbook 1st edtion has a reversed spine and it's the only one out of my qt collection that does it,really annoying. im sure i will get over it though. i think most if not all are fine with it

Thanks for your thoughts ben. I think im gonna stick with it. Cant be passing up on a glossy steel......rare to find these days :hilarious:

If it annoys me when i get it, i can just pop it upside down and then bobs your uncle.

Hopefully people will buy the original in a nice glossy steelbook instead of going to watch the remake

On a side note, can anyone who has the remastered version let me know what the transfer is like, is it an improvement over the previous release? Thanks.

Exactly my opinion...if not I shall warm it up and flip it..it's not a Deal breaker a upside down spine..if you stand on your head and look at your collection, then there ALL upside down..Spooky..:ohno:EEK!:D

For me it's not a big deal, I have had that many Steelbooks where the title reads from the bottom to the top that I don't even notice now. It should be the other way round but it would never stop me from buying a Steelbook.

I don't quite understand why a so called "up-side-down"-spline would be such a problem. Never realized that there should be a "correct" direction of spline. I mean it's not like it's mirrored or reversed, which would be a real manufacturing error.

Splines without title are MUCH WORSE.

It's simple, pretty much all UK Steels have the spine reading in one direction, I know this probably wouldn't annoy most people but for collectors that have that mild ocd or those that just like uniformity amongst their collection this is a real pet hate. I have a few foreign movies in my collection and it bugs me so much. It's not the fact that I have to tilt my head to read it (I'm fully aware of the film I'm actually looking at) it just stands out lie a sore thumb compared to the others. I have a few in my collection like the French X-Men First Class steel, French Bound amaray & Canadian Kill Bill steels and it's a tad annoying to say the least.

Different strokes for different folks I guess

I'm not OCD but reversed spine is pretty annoying... when you're trying to organize them on the shelves it's a mess, even you flip it into the other direction so you can read the title along with other steelbooks but the studio or blu-ray logos are still upside down...
