Now your just bashing every single person who keeps their steels sealed. IF you like something post something positive in that thread. Most people buy and collect steels because of the packaging and looks. These are collectable steelbooks and are worth a lot more sealed than opened. If you want to talk about extras its better to do it in the thread of the movie that has the extras in it.

You basically are a broken record. You bash every Asian release. If you don't like it don't buy it. There are plenty others in line waiting to buy these Asian steels and the extras on the disc makes no difference what so ever in the collectability of this release. Its gonna get near $150 IMO.

So this all said means people really don't value the extras that much. They value the rarity and the design of the package. That is what makes the steelbook market go round.

Everything I said is 100% FACT.

It started with me saying the Italian release is the the best for content and you simply wanted to stick a different context and using it as an opportunity to bash me.

Me bashing every Asian release = you being prejudiced.

I don't hate extras, as there must be enough people who watch them to warrant their inclusion on an extra disc, but they are of no real interest to me.

If I opened my steelbooks then I would probably donate the extras discs to the good women of the Mursi Tribe who would get more use them more than I ever would :D

I will agree I buy steelbooks because of the packaging and looks. But I have opened every one. I'm not buying them because of their worth, I'm buying them because I like the movie and the steelbook.

Kimchidvd's Rush is great (apart from the inside artwork)

Missing out on the UK one didn't worry me much as I thought it was boring. I was half tempted by the Italian, but this release has something for everyone. Lenticulars, slipcovers, art cards, postcards, booklet, even a numbered card, at a reasonable price.

I just wonder how many people bought a copy because they wanted it, and how many bought for resale.

'Everything I said is 100% FACT.'
There's someone with a serious ego problem!

What? How does that make me prejudiced. I think you need your meds again. I love Asain releases and all other from around the world. I think every country should be equal. Just like I feel every human being is equal.

I like the best steelbooks and for me the Asian releases are batting a much higher game at this point in time for the others, but I still buy the others too because I like something that is different. That is why I bought all 3 different steelbooks for this release.

The one that is in least damand is the Italian one and then the UK one is in 2nd place and this one is the top dog by far. The steelbook is full gloss as well it has a beautiful looking lenticular or full slip or quarter slip. Whats not to like about it? The discs inside the case? :hilarious:

How about we move on. Lets just call a truce. You have your followers I have mine. You love your extras, I could care less and go for the best looking steelbook there is. Its my hard earned money and I am going to make sure I protect it as much as I can. Its not easy working on a boat in the middle of the ocean 6 months a year while at the same time running an online business. I value every purchase I make.

P.S. these steelbooks have movies inside the case? :hilarious:

I'd say that was a massive generalisation rather than 100% fact.

A lot of fact and a very correct gerneralisation.

Demand says otherwise with this release. The least popular Rush is the Italy Lenticular.

Has nothing to do with ego at all.

Lets just agree to disagree.

All this is getting into is a pissing match now with most of the people attacking me adding no substance at all. I provided my case and not one person has any proof to say otherwise.

Let me know when the steelbook with the most extras on the discs is the most sought after in the 2ndary market.

Friendly zone here lol- Personally I don't really get much out of the extra discs, and even less from the DVD. That said, I would much rather it be included in a regular release that has a greater chance of being open and enjoyed, as compared to exclusive releases which in my case mostly stay sealed. Though it may seem more superficial, I would rather a nicer steel overall- than more features on a bonus disc. On another note, I really hope any extra copies get announced on a schedule instead of a random: it's up ;)

I buy Criterion, Arrow, and Scream Factory releases for the extras. I buy Kimchi steels for the amazing packaging, artwork, and attention to detail. For those who enjoyed the extras for this release there is a great documentary - Hunt Vs Lauda worth checking out. I believe it is streaming on Netflix but I could be wrong.

I spend more time watching my TV than I do looking at my shelves personally

Much more fun in my opinion

But for a film I really like, I'll buy multiple copies with various different features to ensure that I have the complete package

I personally don't give a R - A - about any extras on the disc, I like to consider myself as a hardcore collector so I definitely will not open my steelbooks anymore (used to do it way back then though) I think this RUSH is the best looking one out there , im not worried about 2ndary market - even though chip does make a point ...

Top release once again from Kimchi

Take care
John

keeping steels sealed is fine if that's ur thing, but I would always worry that I didn't have a mint copy, there is no way to be a 100% sure that it doesn't have any defects, once its open u always know

everybody collects for the reason of their choice. personally I think I fall into both camps of this discussion. if you're going to buy a five dollar bargain-basement Blu-ray from an Amazon lightning or a black Friday deal, then I don't think it's unreasonable for the studios to give you a single disc movie feature only Blu-ray since that's what a lot of people are after anyway. but for a $36.99 collectible steelbook, I do think that it should come with all the content available and the fact that studios play games with respect to regions and different rights is a real shame to the consumer and the collector. for example, the new Pinocchio steel book from the Zavvi looks excellent and I'm sure it will be but I am one of those that is disappointed that is not going to come with the bonus features disc. As far as I'm concerned that's a pile of nonsense for them to dis-include what content is already made available on the home-video marketplace.

not trying to derail this conversation so I'll stop there but that is a good example of the same type of thing. as far as this Rush release is concerned I will take incredible package that plain archive put together with amazing attention to detail and inclusion of other goodies way before I will take a couple of extra features on a disk that you can probably get for a couple dollars from multiple different sources. as for what release will be the most desired and most valuable in the steelbook universe, I think that's abundantly clear at this point. excellence and attention to detail is winning in the steelbook world right now.

And as far as those extras on disc. Yep you can watch them for free most of the time. Its not like its a hard thing to find.
