I was shopping in Best Buy and noticed they were carrying a G2 steelbook of Safe House. Looks like the G1 BB exclusive art.

Has anyone picked up a copy of this yet and opened it? I was hoping to see some pics of the back and inside artwork before I decide to buy.

rsaotome, so you OPENED your copies and there wasn't a digital code packed inside? Ugh, that doesn't sound promising... I actually redeem my UV codes, too so I can stream the movie on the go. It's really convenient getting a UV copy when buying these SteelBooks.

I did, I'll take some pics here in a little bit.

At the Best Buy store close by from an early, early Black Friday walk through, this title is $12.99 along with the super glossy Scarface (now we know what happened to the leftover unsold inventory :hilarious:)

Good luck and be safe out there.

please do, im waiting for pics before i decide to buy as well

As requested. Sorry for the delay. Holidays, Black Friday and all. :hilarious:

To confirm again, there is no digital code that came with this.

The marks on the rear on 'Ryan' are my poor lazy 1am attempts at cleaning my fingerprints off the glossy nature that this steelbook is.

Klownicle, if you still have the shrinkwrap with the sticker for HD-Ultraviolet, you can take it back to the store and YMMV, they might give you a code for it on CinemaNow and UV. Good luck!

Oh, the Best Buy I visited a couple of hours ago in Washington DC had the exact same display. I've never thought of that before, I assumed stores would display their Blu-rays however they wanted to, but I guess they have strict guidelines :).

This means Best Buy has many steels of the last Warner Bros. wave, but there are a few missing (in both stores at least) : Gran Torino, Heat, Chinatown, Braveheart, The Book of Eli, V for Vendetta and The Last Samurai.

Safe House was also $12.99, but I have the UK edition, so there was no need for that one :).

However, I did get Sin City, Kill Bill Volumes I & II, Hero, Goodfellas, Elf and the metalpak for The Wizard of Oz which I opened and found out is broken in half, it wasn't noticeable under the shrinkwrap, the two halves fit together but when you open the metalpak, they go their separate ways. I'm going back to the store tomorrow, hopefully they will get me another one (this was the last one on the shelf).
