Very thoughtful considering I wasn't going to give up my left kidney over the Japanese shipping extortion they have. This wave is awesome to me but I can understand where your coming from.

Looks like I'll have to pass on most/all of these if that's the price they're asking... can't afford to buy any more in October. Hopefully Play or Amazon will give us a much lower price!

+1 Think I'll pick them all up eventually but piecemeal in sales etc as I can see these being on shelves for a looong time. They'll be kicking around cheap like Expendables was I think.

One thing to confirm, a lot of identicle re-releases have no inner artwork, will this be the same?

This is just great.

Same thing as JPN version.

Yep it does make you wonder, what is special about steelbook collecting if they are going to release identicle steel and artwork? At least make it different!

I just hope BB & TDK aren't coming with the same artwork.

are you kidding? don't they have other art? i bought this with BB, Dark Knight in amazon.jp..first they re-release those in Korea now this?! :(

There has to be a reason they've held those back. Has to be for a future release down the road.

Maybe when TDKR gets a release?

Seriously though, I don't really think that this will effect the Seven JP too much. Japanese steels always always rise in value and become sought after once they go OOS. This one may not get the prices that BB is getting now but It'll go for over £100 in a year as this was only available through Amazon.jp. An example would be Captain America (although the Avengers might have something to do with this one).

i dont think it will make any difference to the value's of the jps versions of the steelbooks anyone whois a collector will still want the jp versions as they were the original release if you put the uk version of this and the jp one on ebay i would bet the jp version would still be more sort after

even though the covers are the same the jp version would still be sort after because thats the one collectors want and got to have...

ask yourself this if the uk one went oop and you missed it which one would you rather have the jp or uk version :)

This is true but it will have some impact on the value of the Jp steel. It was previously the only version of the film in a steelbook which made it highly desirable. Once the UK is released a lot of collectors will just be happy with this version and pass on the JP version. I agree that it will always be the most sought after version but I think re-releases do affect values. Having said this I can see it from both sides, it's good for people who missed out on the Japanese steelbook to get a chance to get hold of it. Off course for the collectors who spent a lot importing it's very annoying. I guess you have to buy carefully at the moment and know that theres a possibility of titles getting re-released.

I disagree with some of your comments here. It is still available in Japan and there are 609 left and it is taking some time to go OOP, it's not like it is OOP now and charged rediculous prices. Available and shipped world wide from Amazon.jp.

I am sure most will agree with this but I don't think it is a good idea to re-release an identicle steelbook and a 'good idea for people who missed out'. That destroys the art of collecting. What is point of collecting if they are releasing the same artwork again? I am not against re-releases totallay but it should be a different artwork. These white steelz have been available since March I believe and we had plenty of time last year to get our orders in. No one has missed out, it is studios just being greedy again and do not care about the ethics of collecting.

Pass, already have the Japanese one. Makes no difference to me whether I paid more for the Japenese Steelbook, as there was really no way for me to know whether these cheaper ones would come. As I've said 100 times and has repeatedly been passed back to studios and the decision makers by all those working on getting new Steelbooks released, the 'recyclery' is lazy and ruins the uniqueness of these releases....as they are released in different countries.

It does make a difference for me DB on price :hilarious:!

One single steel from Japan at approx 2620 yen they charge will cost £20 steel + £25 shipping + £9 custom charge, + £1.25 DHL courier fee. Total about £55.

I can see why a few of us are cheesed off at the moment because it be about £17-£18 to order and we get free delivery!

Even if we combined say 3 orders, it still works out about £37'ish (over double the UK price).

Oh well we win some lose some, and for this, unless the artwork is different inside, I have lost on this occasion so meh@me :(

Same as JP, how thoughtful to all those that spent loads importing them over!

Is thoughtful really the word you associate with multimillion if not multibillon corporations?

Btw, it's not a re-release but I'll give it a rest now as I probably have pissed off too many people in one day. My karma could need a little rest now. :p

Now just kick back and watch them flood the Batman's when Japans some sort of exkl deal runs out. Bring on 8 K.s of those babies and screw all who imported and bought them for 100.s of dollars on Ebay.:scat::rolleyes:

If collector's stop buying who are they gonna sell 17 £ steelbooks to, Joe Six Pack??!

At the risk of going off topic, if this encourages Warner to release TDKR in the UK with the white artwork so we don't have to import from Japan, then that will be the only good thing to come out of it.
