The back is a little too plain for my liking but since I don't own this in any format it will make a nice addition to the collection

Judging by the picture, I don't think is a sticker..
What a shame!

You can't judge this from a mock-up picture 4 months prior to release. The Japanese Dredd had a very professional looking mock-up and turned out to be quite different. Nobody knew until they started being delivered.

Please tell me that BFI and rating logos are stickers...

Pass with that PG sticker. :smashed:

I hope its not printed, will ruin this steelBook !!

Someone on BR.com claims it is a sticker, but what I want to know is the one on the spine a sticker too?

edit: that's the ratings logo btw, not the BFI logo. I don't mind that being there.

The age rating is on a sticker as said in the Seven Samurai artwork vote thread

(rating logo is a sticker)

Despite being a Kurosawa fan and considering this movie an essential, I'm giving this steel a pass. I like the stylized red sun and the silhouettes, but the English title words in modern font spoil it.

Seven Samurai deserves better treatment, not just a steelbook for steelbook sake. Only Criterion knows how to respect classic movies from the masters. They stuck to the Japanese title words.

This steel gonna remain on the shelf for a long while.

Apart from the Criterion version has on the front cover 'Seven Samurai a film by Akira Kurosawa' in a stylised English font and 'BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION HIGH-DEFINITION VIDEO AND AUDIO' in a normal English font.

I'm a huge Kurosawa fan as well and have the Criterion blu-ray and wasn't going to get this but I've changed my mind.

Let's hope it's not the last BFI steelbook. Though I hope any future ones won't be exclusive to Zavvi.

I agree about the English title though. I think the steelbook would be much better with only the Japanese title (embossed, please) above the circle. I'm fine with the English title on the spine, but I think it would be more authentic looking if the original title were used. That goes for all non-English films btw.
