You're most likely right. I'll stress. It's lovely. No problem here, just would have liked a really bright image.

Don't get me wrong, my copy hasn't arrived yet so I can't really judge but back in the day comics were printed on some of the cheapest quality paper so they shouldn't be a true white by today's standards (and of course copies still around have yellowed with age), my assumption is that beige was picked because it (somewhat) resembles what you would have seen from a 50's comic when it came out:
Genuinely can’t believe it’s been 20 years. I remember the first time I watched it stoned out my nut with 10 other people crammed in a room that fit just 4 when I was 18 and it became a regular weekly occurrence along with Anchorman, Old School and Napoleon Dynamite . The good ol days!
