Despise trying to talk to amazon customer service, like smashing my face against a wall repeatedly. I'm sure they're told act as dumb as possible?

I don't know how they recruit in UK. But in France, I was able to test different hotlines. During my professional activities, I even met physically several people working in call centers. They recruit very low to average intelligence people who just have to be able to read instructions on a screen. They're not here to think... some are even unable to... Soon AI will replace them. So more smashing the face against a wall to come.

Why are so many people still bothering with Amazon UK?
Misery loves company.

Amazon is only ever a last resort for me these days, they've proven they're utterly unreliable for a collector's needs and we're better off with almost any other company getting their small cut over Amazon as they couldn't care less about our needs.

I have Prime, HMV referral has never worked for me, Zavvi code hasn't worked properly for about a year and they don't seem to have any intention of fixing it. It's a last resort really, to get value out of Prime.
I have Prime as well, and also couldn't get the HMV code working for the longest time either. Unless you're really fast, then the Zavvi code won't work for pre-orders... I've only been lucky enough to get in their quickly myself a couple of times. I'd still choose anyone else over Amazon at the moment though, even if it meant paying a little more... better to actually receive the item than have Amazon randomly cancel it without warning, especially on an item that is sold out everywhere.

I have been using HMV for a few things I think might sell quick, or Amazon take too long to list. I've had to get all Arrow releases from there for about a year now, don't know what's happened between Amazon and Arrow, but they don't seem to stock any of their new releases anymore.

I'd noticed that too, but then never bought my Arrow stuff from them anyway. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact The Hut Group (Zavvi owners) now also own Arrow. Maybe @paulboland has more info??

I don't have any issues with Amazon UK and got delivery of all the pre orders I kept on order
I have prime subscription and get free shipping on all orders if amazon UK the seller and when it's third party seller item that is fulfilled by amazon UK
I also now often get delivery 1 day after order has been dispatched due to Amazon having a fulfillment center in Dublin
Some pre orders might be dispatched after release date but I still get quick delivery after it's been dispatched.

Note to Republic of Ireland Members
When doing a pre order with Amazon UK just make sure price is listed in Euro's at checkout
It can happen if order not done in Euros you will get failed payment notice when they try to take payment
I just wait when doing any pre orders with Amazon UK that it lists price in euro's at checkout to avoid that issue.

The only Amazon UK pre order I had automatically cancelled was the What's in the Box Se7en SteelBook Special edition release which was cancelled by Warner anyway

Arrow films UK new releases not been listed by Amazon UK as the seller since February 2024 It's due to trade price and file discount dispute between Amazon UK and Arrow Films UK
Amazon UK not getting what they wanted resulted in them to stop selling arrow video new releases
Amazon UK expect large file discount from distributors.

Only third party sellers selling arrow releases get listed since then.

Amazon USA is not affected as the distributor for arrow video releases in USA is MVD Entertainment Group not arrow films uk

Zavvi is no longer owned by THG aka The Hut Group since July 2023
THG sold zavvi back to Zavvi management
That is why they now listed as Zavvigroup LTD

Arrow Films uk is owned by THG and was never owned by Zavvi
The sale of Zavvi did not include Arrow Films as that was purchased by THG and not Zavvi

The Zavvi website though as a client is still run by thg ingenuity webstore platform and that includes the same THG ingenuity customer service staff as before which is why you still get the usual auto replies if you contact from your zavvi account
THG ingenuity look after many more retailers webstores you likely not aware about and some of those retailers are not owned by THG

In regards to my previous post about arrow video releases on Amazon UK

Amazon UK issue with Arrow Films UK looks to have been sorted
Some but not all of the January 2025 releases are now listed for pre order

Ah bugger, can't find my order on Amazon even though I ordered it on 25th September.
I know I was late ordering (everywhere else was sold out at the time), but surely they can't just make orders disappear and without notice? That's messed up.

I guess I'll wait for the HMV/Zavvi restock then.

They've been doing it all the time as of late. Check your cancelled orders list, it should be on there.
