That's indeed quite high.

It should cost around £13-£14 for under 500 grams for.outside EU. The good thing is it is offset by deduction of 20% VAT but still on the higher side.

Bulk buyers in US will get the best deal.

Once they start adding booklet for similar price this will be the best value for money.

But you hit the nail on the head there. It is far too expensive for what it is; a rehash of the original artwork, of an old film in a thin slip with a few cards.
With ludicrous postage compared to others, and crowd-funding to boot.

I realize they are small and just begining, but if they had studied the market better beforehand, and had chosen the most sought after of these: World's End, then it would be a different matter.

A bit harsh there! SOD is an excellent choice for a first attempt. I bet a lot of people saw that and did a mini fist pump & i wouldn't call it an old movie to me an old movie is 70s 80s! Maybe TWE might happen later down the line. And how do you know it's a thin slip? The killer Clowns slip was highly praised by some very old school experienced collectors. I always say the proof of the pudding is in the eating so until I get my hands on a copy I will reserve criticism. But your right about the postage charges that needs sorting seems very high!

How do you know the slips are thin?
A nova o ring is quite thin but the material used is strong and sturdy

Also aren't you in the UK? Postage is ok

If I was ordering from the US the postage would be ridicolus to the UK so it's interesting to see the tables turned; I don't agree with certain shipping prices but it makes a change from it being us for once

Nice idea but already have a steel of this but would be interested to see what other films they may do in the future hopefully some that haven't had the steelbook treatment already

They were challenged on the slip some time ago (not by me)

Yes, I'm in the Uk, but I was thinking of the wider picture regarding postage.

I still think more research and a wiser choice for a No. 1 would have yielded longer-term benefits.

I don't think that's unduly harsh.
As I had drummed into me some considerable time ago, there are three keys to success: Preparation, Preparation and Preparation . . . . . . .

Whatever, I still wish them well. Especially in the UK's present volatile state.

IMO, The World's End is by far the worst of the three films, it's still good, but not sure if I'd pay premium for that movie. Shaun and Hot Fuzz, I would.

I've only seen pics of killer klowns and that slip didn't look thin to me so I assumed these would follow that

I'm not sure what their answer was to that challange, not sure if I've seen that

Of course would be be amazing if everyone got the same postage prices from all over the world, but it's usually us that get stung so this makes a change
Also sounds like shipping might get better for certain higher priced places so that's good news for importers

I don't think they needed research, Shaun is a huge film especially for us Brits and even Americans as well as many many other places. Has a massive cult following too especially for the guys who were into Wright, pegg and frost before the film

I agree a WEA would of been much better but considering I like the horizontal steel I'm ok with owning a different variation of it. And going forward I hope they get more freedom. I hope they get to finsh the trilogy and also venture into other films old and new

Fully understand people won't be happy with this because of the steel art, that's fine just like I'll be very annoyed if hot fuzz turns out to be the horizontal art but I'm also purchasing to help a uk company trying to break into the premium market with hope they get more freedom with creating WEA for hot fuzz, worlds end and others. I hope

And like I mentioned before the box set cost me about £10 more than a single premium release from Asia. So this is a nice change for some collectors

Plus I doubt everyone owns the play steel

Fair play to you.

I backed out of the HDz/BluFans madness long ago and never felt bound to buy everything Nova and Kimchi throw up; and only bought the first, grossly overrated and over priced Manta.

Sure we need a British premium producer - truth told it should probably be HMV as they are the only one really big enough and have the experience. But, in the present climate not many people are feeling brave. Once status quo is resumed here, I expect HMV may indeed dip a toe in the water.
