I hope that blurry text is the result of crappy photography skills and not crappy quality control.

Nothing shipped here after a week, it's abundantly clear this wasn't ready and instead announcing a delay they opted for deception.
Blur, otherwise known as bokeh to all the photographers out there.

Bokeh is a result of the aperture setting and clever use of its depth of field.

I just want to counteract some of the negativity, if I can.

I originally ordered both separates and a box, but a couple of weeks ago I decided I didn't need the box. So I dropped an email over and had my reply within a couple of hours, saying that it had been done and that I would get it refunded. I shared a couple more emails back and forth and again, received quick replies. This was also my experience just after ordering, as I had a couple of questions then, which were answered quickly and helpfully.

After a few days, the refund hadn't come through, so I mentioned that and they advised that it was done, but was just waiting to be processed by PayPal and sure enough it did come through.

So I guess my point is, if you have questions, don't just come in here and complain, actually drop an email over to see if they can be answered that way.

Of course, if you have done that, then this is a moot point...

I sent 4 emails...all ignored! After 4 days nothing changed...as i said before, EB sent thousands mail and daily alerts on pre order phase, but now they're disappeared.
they used my money to pay SOTD production and now they cancelled my orders...i hope to be refounded soon and leave forever EB threads.

Thank you for sharing your experience

Why was your order cancelled? What did they say?

For the moment I prefer not to post the content of the cancellation alert email on public,
But in this way EB is forcing me to seek help from a public forum to get an answer!

Less Schrodinger's Cat, more Pandora's box (lol)

Not going to get into the sealed vs. unsealed debate here BUT there could still be a sealed U.K. 2nd edition METROPOLIS steelbook bouncing around, or sitting on a collector's shelf gathering dust, containing the Willy Wonka style opportunity to win an 180g engraved "Metropolis" gold bar with a melt value of over GBP 5,700 at today's prices . . . so, unseal everything when there's a chance of winning something substantial . . . just in case (lol)

Keep sealed . . . open it

. . . being an historic release - as in the very first premium-ish U.K. steelbook - with the lowest of numbers 001/500 I'd say "Keep the thing sealed"

The inside of the box has some padding so they fit very snug in my box actually. There is a small gap because of that but no biggie. Slightly disappointed about not being individually wrapped. Quality of the box is very nice and the detail is great. Overall for the first big release EB did a good job and I am very satisfied especially with the lower cost than many premium releases. I have no doubt lessons like the shrink wrap will be easy to fix going forward.

What does Metropolis have to do with Shaun of the Dead? Please keep it on topic. Thank you.

Yes, thank you, it's true that METROPOLIS has more to do with FRANKENSTEIN than zombies . . . and my post was more by way of comment regarding the #001/500 sealed vs. unsealed Blubox.
I suppose the main difference between the two is that there's no Cornetto munching in "Metropolis".

It was off topic plain and simple. Please keep it on topic end of discussion. Thank you for understanding. :)

Now Saturday morning, has EB stuck to their word that this WILL be done for the weekend?

Can we have a saving grace and see a dispatch? Or are you going to run and hide from the bank holiday weekend and use this as an escape to buy yourself three extra days for a Tuesday dispatch?

Do My Hermes even operate on Saturdays??

Yes they do pickups on a Saturday as I have recently sent a parcel with them last saturday, but bare in mind that they didn`t receive there's till atleast this Thursday just gone so with the Bank Holiday I doubt if you will receive till next Friday.

Thanks for confirming. I'm not bothered about when it arrives, I'm just happy it goes in a box and gets shipped. That way I know EB hasn't done a runner with my cash.

My BluBox turned up today here in the States. It shipped last Saturday and arrived via DHL. Tracking info was spartan to say the least, and it still doesn't show it as being delivered:

So if your tracking number throws out some worrisome info, don't be too alarmed. My box arrived safe and sound. The packaging itself was good. The BluBox was wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap and then placed into a well laid out bed of foam peanuts.

The box itself is superb. It is strikingly similar to the little 2-slip sleeves FA produces--only with every issue addressed. There's no unsightly seams or edges to be seen, and the material feels great in hand. No one is going to mistake it for leather, but it has a nice weight and is soft to the touch. The 'bossing is excellent, and the white and foil elements stand out nicely against the red base. As @howarmat mentioned, the inside is lined with a soft felt-like material to prevent scratches to the slips themselves--a welcome addition, given the unwrapped nature of the single editions. It also fits both slips like a dream, not too loose, and not too tight. I could see some collectors preferring a tighter fit, but I prefer to not have to do the Kimchi/FAC shimmy-shake of death that sometimes accompanies extracting a steel from their slips/boxes. :ohno:
