It is still bloody shame #1096 for my order. No way I am going to register at facebook again. Those Zuckerberg henchmen shut down my account because I was not real person in some software opinion, and i refused to give them my mobile number. Why on Earth would they need it?

Okay so finally opened it up and in honesty I'm not impressed

First off the actual box is very well made, that I can't grumble about. It's Heavy, thick, sturdy and the detail is very nice. Same with the full slip, I do like it and the detail is nice but it's very thin and don't feel premium at all. It's Like those UK slips a few months back. Was hoping they would be a bit sturdier

The lenti is awful, like really bad. Barely any depth except the baseball bat but then that's blurry. Shaun and ed look okay-ish but Liz like others have mentioned don't work because of the colour of her and Shaun's shirts.

The back has nice detail but again like the full slip does not feel premium enough with how light and thin it is

The art cards are dire quality and as mentioned really rough edged, has all these white marks over them, and nothing to keep them in like the other premium companies do. I do like the postcards but again be careful opening them because they will bend due to the crappy plastic which contains them.

I don't like that the extra cards have no where to go either. Okay you can put them In the steel but then they are jumbled up with the others.

Oh and my steels have marks over them too

And to top it off I have this issue..... So I got #92 on the box and full slip. But #91 with the lenti!!! That's terrible IMO. So someone will most likely have #91 with the box and full slip but #92 with the lenti.

I'm really doubting getting the hot fuzz box and any other of their editons unless they use sturdier slips, better quality art cards, plastic sealed envelopes to keep the art cards and post cards in and also their other issues which we all know about. Yeah I can't fault the actual blu box but the rest isn't the standard I was expecting.

I will email them about the issues too

Just been watching another unboxing. I can see what you mean about the lenti, looks really poor, hardly any movement at all. The art cards look underwhelming and cheap quality and no quality plastic poly bags to put inside or a nice envelope. The big gap in the box, the unsealed singles, the whole thing doesn't look impressive at all. I'm not even going to bother opening mine. Think I'm gonna get rid of it. :( what a waste of 5 months for this and I don't even have it my hands. I will stick with the filmarena hardboxes

For those mulling cancelling, I will say that EverythingBlu was very fast and amenable to refund my still unshipped order today. I had a response and full refund an hour after e-mailing them, which I didn't expect after the reports of unanswered e-mails to support here.

So at least there's that, I guess! Best of luck to those sticking with it, but the lackluster looking lenti on top of the wait and fast approaching PayPal deadline was enough for me. Hopefully things improve for their future releases.

They can't even put the right numbers in the one click? That is not good at all. Quite embarrassing if you ask me. I've never known that to happen from any premium retailer.

Yeah it's shocking. Not sure if it's ever happens before. But not happy

And epic fails saga continues :hilarious: I know that I shouldn´t be laughing, but mess up the numbers like that and whole lot of other fails in general is just so ridiculous that it´s funny (and maybe not funny ANYMORE for someone, I would understand :D.

Now that would be funny If I will get those #91 #92 messed up numbers :hilarious::hilarious:

All I can do is laugh at this moment, otherwise it just get more wound up about the ever growing list of fails.... Oops im starting again lol

haven't messaged them yet because I was busy tonight but will in the morning

Yeah I don't like that lenti, baseball bat is the only thing with a bit of depth And even that don't line up with the rest without something looking blurry

Honestly the quality of the cards is laughable, they have those little bobble edge bits around them and you can really tell they were on sheets and they have just pulled them off. Not even cut off with a proper industrial cutter

The fact they aren't in resealable poly bags things is juts ridiculous - all stuff they need to improve on

That gap in the box does look like a gap but it's the inside felt stuff so the slips don't rub on the inside of the blu box but it's quite thick so makes it look like the box is too big for them. Nice idea but the execution has backfired because it looks like a big gap lol

@Flloydo

You nailed it mate. I would sticky your post if I was a mod.

The highlight of this release is the box. It looks excellent and better than the overrated FAC hardboxes but the rest of the package is only as good as those Zoom exclusive editions with slips and a poor man's version of those Kimchi editions without the booklet.

Cheers

Yeah the box is the highlight, never seen a FAC hard box in hand but the pics don't do it for me anyway

I only have one of those kimchi thin slips (arrival lenti) and get what you mean but like you say this is the poor man version. My kimchi one is miles ahead - still don't like this thinner kimchi slips though and won't be buying one of those again either

My first one click and I'm dissaponted lol.
The steels and slips should be -£10ish each with the crappy extras. The box £15 and in being nice there. With shipping this should be no more than £40 maximum. Not worth £64 IMO

Maybe hot fuzz will be better if they improve on these mistakes and with the wea gloss steels. But then will that be more expensive than Shaun because of the wea and gloss?? For their sake I hope not

I will say this, I do think the mummy box editon will be safe and decent because the box for this is nice and can only imagine they will focus more on the actual boxes (when it really should be everything), we have already seen the steels and for matte they look decent with pretty much premium embossing so they can't **** them up plus that won't include any of their crappy art card material extras

not many people posting pictures....? :watch:
just curious to see how these editions turned out, thanks!
Not that many pictures posted probably out of respect for those that have yet to get theirs. There are some in here but there are also some in the pinned (latest acquired) thread as well.

I asked for my order to be cancelled the other day, I don't like the way the delivery was handled for this and the way they did it, listening to others it doesn't seem like it's worth waiting for.

My pics & thoughts on the BluBox:
Shaun Of The Dead (Blu-ray SteelBook) (EverythingBlu Exclusive #001) [UK]

Steel and full slip:
Shaun Of The Dead (Blu-ray SteelBook) (EverythingBlu Exclusive #001) [UK]

And the lenti:
Shaun Of The Dead (Blu-ray SteelBook) (EverythingBlu Exclusive #001) [UK]

My impressions seem to lean a bit more to the positive side of the spectrum (from what I've gathered from other posts), but perhaps I'm too easy to please.

Excellent analysis! I was looking for more information and break down on the treatment of each edition, must've missed your great posts amongst the dozens and dozens of "where's my steelbook?!" posts

Not to oversimplify but if you had to choose between the full slip or the lenti, which would you choose? Now that you have them in-hand, I mean. Seems like both surprised you with how well they were done which is cool.
