Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Wow only 338 left! Thats means about 150 copies shifted in one hour. Will probably be gone in a few hours so better get to it if you want it......again lol.

Just wanted to know how you know how many there is remaining, it would be great to know this for future releases, so I don't need to panic buy.

Change the quantitiy in your basket to 999 and the website will tell you how many are left.

122 at the moment.

Note has this comment:

It it legal to sell a Disc without BBFC Certification in the UK ??

Even in the days of double sided discs, the rating was suppossed to be printed on the hub. Legal or not, no one's going to bother pressing charges because a certificate is missing. Besides, the certificate is on the disc, it's a UK disc designed for R2 but NTSC rather than PAL (we've had them before).

AIUI, newer TVs designed for digital transmission rather than the old analogue system don't work on PAL or NTSC anyway. Even back in the day it was rarely a problem as a lot of UK TVs and VHS machines were much more world friendly than say the US versions.

The movie disc that came with the Blu-ray version of The Dark Knight Rises also didn't have a certificate on it, although the DVD version did (it had different artwork too).
