Former HMV exclusive:
***Several members have stated that per HMV, pre-orders have been cancelled.

Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Lucky SoB, I still have to check the Amazon page every 10 frickin minutes! Even though I've signed up for notifications for if and when it does reappear.

It should be good news for you one less OCD crazy person constantly checking amazon hoping for one. Although sadly I can see this reselling out quick if it does pop back up with some many ebayers out there selling them at huge profits.

And I am still at a loss why they didn't do a US one clearly there is a great demand for some Bond love in steel and the first G2 US steels were all Bonds.

Amazing how one or two warehouse workers can cause so many problems for so many people, not only the customers but the Amazon customer service staff who have to deal with the fallout and mess from all these scratches.

Given how good Amazon's customer service is, I trust they will notice the level of negative feedback they've had over this, as well as the refunds they've given, and look for a remedy.

Sorry to hear that mate, join the club! :( There must a TON of damaged copies of this title out there. Very frustrating after the difficulty of getting a pre-order in at all.

i thought both of mine were scratched at first glance but on 2nd glance looking for the blue line one had only pierced the cellophane and has actually not touched the steelbook at all which is extremely fortunate, amazon have offered me a £4 refund, which i took as they are now OOS

Is it possible to use a credit from amazon.uk towards an amazon.fr purchase? The same user ID/account works on both sites...not like amazon.jp. Are these two linked that closely?

(Just working on an exit strategy if I receive a slashed spine)

my slash is very faint but still a slash. have spoken to amazon C/S to be given a £3.00 partial refund as the disc is still usable. this is because they dont know whether they will any more in stock

I got £3 off.

Double-rip off. :p

yep same details on uk/de and fr
Actually don't think you can use CREDIT across different Amazon's (hope they're working on that), but as deuce said all details are the same, only Japan & China separate.

Sorry, back to topic. :D

Agreed, those 9 Bond steelbooks sold out in Canada too.
I guess they didn't want hundreds of millions of potential customers this time :angry:

sorry my bad i read it wrong, thought he meant use same credit cards across them all DOH!

Mine arrived yesterday without either a slashed spine ot blue printed stripe error so I must have been one of the lucky few.

That's the only thing I hate about steelbooks selling out. If you get a damaged one there's not much you can do about it. I wouldn't really want a partial refund, I'd want an undamaged copy. Once I've got a good one (only ever received 1 damaged steelbook) I couldn't care less if they sell out or not.

On a slightly controversial note, I wasn't that impressed with the move. Actually, I prefer Quantum of Solace so what do I know.

Received Skyfall steelbook today from Amazon.uk. It has on the front, next to Daniel Graigs face, small dent and straches :wtf: also slashed spine on the side . And Skyfall its sold out in amazon.uk so i can not replace it :(
