Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Indeed - this has always been the case. When they finally do tell you about it, it can be days or weeks after it became live online...by that time could be sold out

I choose this option for a reason...bad memory

My two copies have just arrived and one has a blue line and the other perfect. I guess I'll be sending the blue line copy back. With all the defect reports and coming back in stock this morning, I did order another copy this morning before the two arrived, just to increase my odds of getting a perfect copy. I guess that will be going back when it arrives as well. If that arrives perfect then I was thinking of selling on, but with Ebay now flooded, I don't want to take a loss.

Guess I've been lucky with this steelbook thing. Only ever had a single damaged one... until yesterday. I am the proud owner of a spine-slashed Skyfall. Oh well, guess it was kind of overdue after buying 30+ of these things.

Still keeping it and I managed to get another 15% refund from Amazon on top of the refund for the initial listing price. I won't be losing any sleep over this one.

I got a copy with the 'blue line' but it is barely visible and I wouldn't have even noticed it had someone not mentioned it on here.

Certainly not something I'd ever return a steelbook for, but maybe I'm not as OCD as others on here.
