Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Italy must be the worst. 80% had small dings or paint chips.

Mate, I've got the Indian release on pre-order (release date is "March 2014")! You wanna bet that all the rejects from the UK release (with spine slashes, blue lines and "small" dings make it over here minus the slip! I can't wait for the fun and games to begin :hilarious:

Ooh this will be fun :movie:

The quality control on this Steel of all Steels has to one of the worst, almost if not worse than some of the Paramount Waves (Godfather, Watchmen, Transformers) last year. It doesn't sit well for Steelbooks in the UK if the best selling film in the UK gets this sort of treatment.

I was lucky but sooo many aren't. Would be interesting to see if the German and other European releases have the same "blemishes".

I spoke to amazon about steelbooks having slashed spines and/or paint chips, who then spoke To their fulfilment department. This was ther response.

Our Fulfilment Team updated as this doesn't appear to be a widespread issue with the stock we currently hold. It seems your parcel may damaged during transit.

I don't think it's their fault though my spine slash was under the shrink wrap. Surely someone should check them before they are sent out?

True on both counts.

Still undecided which to keep. The original has the spine slash, but the replacement only has the blue line on the spine. The paint chip was actually sawdust under the shrinkwrap.

i kept the one with the blue line has it was quite faint, so not that noticeable to me but the spine slash was.

I receive my second copy of Skyfall. The first one was damage, bent and also slice spine :( and i send it back. The new steelbook came perfect condition
:oohyeah:
