we have never got more than 15% partial, said many times about people getting 50% off and they completely denied it.

Zavvi just offered me a 20% discount for my damaged Chernobyl Diaries and I told them that's not acceptable. I said that doesn't help me with my damaged steelbook and I'd like a full refund. I'm sure that won't happen but hopefully it gets me more than 20%. I guess I've been lucky as this is the first time I've received a damaged steelbook from them.
 
Received my copy yesterday. Overall, it's in great shape. There are some hairline scratches on the top of the back cover (as some others had mentioned), which seem to have been made before the gloss was applied, perhaps?

But the front artwork and gloss finish on this is really nice.

It's too bad that so many copies seem to have issues.
 
I have my fingers crossed but I'm not expecting a happy ending.

I was going to do a naughty joke but it didn't come, and I'm tired / a bit boozy so I'm just going to give you the ingredients for the not-fully formed joke:

"Happy ending"... as in what some masseuses may do at the end of a massage (it's also the name of a great-but-cancelled fast-talking comedy series, check it out).
"Fingers"... the things said masseuses use to achieve said happy ending (or so I've heard, I've never actually tried it, even by myself :vulcan:).

"Fingers crossed": tricky way to get an happy ending :D... was the direction I was going in, but didn't like it very much, thus this exposé on my thinking process. Though I thought about submitting that to the Big Bang Theory writers but it felt too clever.

Anyway... what about Sleepy Hollow, huh? I'll probably rewatch it soon. As illiterates would say, I love me some Christina Ricci :beaver:.
 
Seeing this, one would expect Zavvi to negotiate a deal with the printing factory of replacing ALL the sent steelbooks or at least offering the buyers this option. Instead they're taking the easy way out...

And they would be totally in their rights to do so. Scanavo had to have known they were sending out flawed products to their customer and swept the problems beneath a j-card hoping nobody would notice. This is exactly why you should open your damned steelbooks people!
 
I best get checking my steelbook again. I didn't notice the scratches that pretty much everyone seems to have mentioned. Hopefully I didn't notice them because they are not there & not just because I'm useless!
 
I decided to ask for a replacement from Zavvi the other day and still they did not offer any partial refund, also they did not make it clear I could get a replacement but said they were expecting more stock, so back to asking them again to replace it. If I'm not happy with their next message I'll consider sending it back I already have the collect+ label from them for a return and refund. :dunno::(

It might be that they have not been supplied all the stock yet from StudioCanal
That might be a good thing for those yet to receive their order as Zavvi are aware now of issues with this steelbook

If StudioCanal are doing anything about the quality issue on the back of the steelbook is unknown as of yet but you can be sure they are well aware of it by now

If they are doing anything about this and later send a new batch that's not affected you could count yourself lucky you did not receive delivery from the original batch

If this comes back in stock and I see reports of customers getting these steelbooks with no issues then if still in stock I will put another order in
 
Ok, after refusing a 20% credit to my account for my damaged steelbook and asking for a replacement Zavvi sends me this line of BS

After dealing with Zavvi, Amazon's customer service is a dream come true!

I got that same email from Zavvi, after being offered 15%. I told them forums like these are aware and if it compensates they get such bad publicity for such a crappy performance. I am very disgusted with them.

Zavvi should get on to Scanavo and those that received damaged steelbooks should be sent replacements With no defects. Not necessarily the whole package again, just a new case.

If Blufans and HD Zeta can do it, Zavvi can do it.
