Hope I have this in the right place. I'd like to get some hard cases for my more valuable steels. They seem hard to get. A seller on Ebay Germany is selling them, but won't ship to Canada. but was unable to get any. Can anyone help?:(

For members who prefer poly bags (like me), I strongly suggest these JS84 poly sleeves. The material and adhesive are finer than any sleeve I've ever owned. They are a bit pricey, but you get 200 bags. If you are in the states give them a try.

These are ideal for steelbooks without slips.

I also ordered the JS83 bags, but they proved to be too big.
I was hoping they would fit nicely, but the bags volume was more than needed.
I guess, I'll still be in the hunt for poly bags that fit steels with slipcovers perfectly.

Just got the shells from blu-steels a few days ago. Great protection sleeves imo! I'm glad I now have all my steels well-protected. :)

Those jumbo sleeves look pretty sweet! I have my whole collection in sleeves, except my jumbo's which only have the polybags

Wish they didn't come in packs of 25 since I only have 3 jumbo steels

And how do you protect your steels with full slipcovers? Because now, there are some new and valuable releases (kimichidvd, blufans etc.) which i dont know how to protect at all - they are too large for the standard poly sleeves

Anyone? :)

I have a question about the steel shells with the opening on the spine side.

When sliding the steelbooks in and out multiple times, do thye get scratches over time? It just seems like little specs of dust can sneak in there and cause some small scratches over time of pulling the steels in and out.

The JS83 sleeves actually fit steelbooks with slips perfectly. At first I inserted the steelbook vertically, but that left too much volume. Than I inserted the steelbook horizontally and it fit thoroughly. JS bags are sturdy and have a strong adhesive strip. I was even able to bag my Jack Reacher Blufans steel. I'll upload photos so you can see how they look.

This is not an issue- if the sleeves were extremely tight like some other brands it might be a problem.
The German Steel-shells are a great fit but not too tight so zero risk of scratching. Buy with confidence

A discussion has risen at BR forum that the German blu-steels steel-shells are made of PVC which is harmful to collections. Apparently it can damage the paint because of some type of chemical interaction with the PVC and the paint. I have had my collection in poly bags for a year now and I just purchased 25 of the steel-shells too. Can anyone comment on whether or not either of these types of material will cause damage to the steelbooks? And why or why not?

This is slightly ridiculous...a steelbook left in direct sunlight under extreme heat may get damaged, regardless of whether or not its in a sleeve/bag etc. It would have to be excessively hot for any kind of chemical reaction from any kind of plastic to damage the steelbook finish...and at that temperature the steelbook may get damaged anyway, regardless if it has a sleeve/bag on it.
I'm assuming we all store our steelbooks indoors under normal temperatures so nothing to worry about...

....I'd be more concerned about keeping steelbooks sealed. The glue used to attach the data sheets/ j-cards to the back of the steelbooks can damage the finish over time. Also a problem on digibooks.
...then there are all the conspiracy theories about the long term damage done by oily fingerprints on steelbooks...Interpol and the CIA are looking into it right now.
