Hope I have this in the right place. I'd like to get some hard cases for my more valuable steels. They seem hard to get. A seller on Ebay Germany is selling them, but won't ship to Canada. but was unable to get any. Can anyone help?:(

Yep, i ordered my second batch from him last moth and got my free loyalty sleeves.

I use these sleeves are they are very strong. Even though im fairly new to steelbooks and sleeves myself i have received some 2nd steelbooks in sleeves and steelbook centrals ones are defiantly stronger.

Just placed an order from steelbook central as well. The ones I've been using locally seems to be having an issue with the current batch, can only snugly fit up to a PS3 sized case but not a steelbook. That's 100 sleeves just laying about now.

This thread has migrated to the plastic poly bags. I want more information on the Hard Cases, 476BRF.

Do you find them hard to use without a key, or were you able to remove the locking mechanism?

I think this is the direction I would like to go. But I'm sure I need to order an entire case of 72.

I've just placed my second order with steelbook-central on eBay and I've found the sleeves are great. I have noticed that a couple of the sleeves can be a bit tight when there is a slip included (some of the Play.com exclusives with a small slip can cause problems) but generally, persevere and you can still get them in without any tearing.

I've just tried out a new side-loading sleeve from steelbook-central as well, a hard plastic one that you slide the steelbook into (so no protection on spine or opening side) which is great to stop scratches on shelves or between steels. Not cheap but definitely worth it for the rarer ones in the collection! I've just ordered a few more of them for those steels that will be sitting on the lovely display stands that Wreck is kindly getting made up! :scat:

Probably been asked before but anyone know of a recent link (eBay or otherwise) for poly bags or slipcases that will fit steelbook jumbos?

Cheers :)

Just ordered some of these from eBay, will let you know what they are like in a bit - so far, only got LotR (CA) and BB/TDK (UK) in Jumbo but always good to have some spares!

Do a search for 'DVD wraps'. They cost £2.50 for 200 from an ebay seller called babz and they are the same quaility.

item number: 150712960828

The seller you are currently buying them off puts the word steelbook in the title and charges 3 times as much :hilarious:

I did see there were other sellers our there but a number of people on here recommended steelbook-central so I bought his. I've bought various CD/DVD sleeves in the past and some of them are terrible quality that they just get thrown out. I also know that most of them just buy them from China so sometimes they can all be identical ;)

Have you bought any from babz or oo-man_of_steel-oo?

I use the babz ones and they are absolutley fine and I can't tell any difference. Feel free to carry on buying from your guy but the fact is his sleeves are the same as all the others, they look the same and they all rip if you're not careful. This is a simple exercise in marketing, he's selling at 3-4 times their value by simply advertising with the word "steelbook" in the title and claiming they are the "best quality". Who's going to take the time to prove that they aren't the best quality? No-one. Which is why he's able to sell them at that price. Just saying :)

These are pretty damn good - first Jumbo sleeves I've seen, and they fit UK BB/TDK jumbo. Haven't tried them on any others yet but worth getting some if you can! (And I have nothing to do with the seller, before anyone asks!!!)

Do a search for "cello bags" on ebay.

They come in various sizes and I'm fairly sure this guy is just buying the C5 size ones and advertising them with the word steelbook in the title.

You can buy 100 C5 size for about £3.50. I have a load of them but haven't got a jumbo to try out on, they are a tiny bit wider than the DVD/Blu-ray ones we all use so I'm sure that's what he's selling.

EDIT:

Update, I have tested these C5 sleeves out with 2 standard blu-ray steelbooks. As you can see from the pics below the fit is absolutely perfect! So there should be no problem with Jumbos.

Here are two sellers, both about £3.50 for 100. Those other ebay sellers advertising them as special steelbook wraps are basically ripping people off, I suppose everyone has to make money and I feel bad for doing this to them but I figure I'm just trying to help out fellow forum users/collectors so what the hell.
