Just had another chat with the little darlings. Basically the front end have no idea an no-one is telling them jack sh*t from up the line.

requested some prompt action and a revision to their website showing the true state of stock levels. Will contact Trading Standards in an hour and a bit if they haven't got their act together.

DO NOT BUY FROM HMV STORES!!! Just went into my local HMV on my lunch break, picked up the only copy I could find (and mint) got to the heck out with my £20 voucher in hand and what did the guy at the till say?£28 please? Thought there was a mistake? Nope, said not paying that and he had to cancel the transaction, why a rip off!! Come on HMV that's just criminal, very disappointed, waste of my lunch break too :/

HMV always put their stuff up after a week (at least my local one does!) So that will be £30 next week.

Here in Ireland The Avengers was €19.99 on release. Now it's €24. Got the 3 disc 3D German version for the same price and HMV's is only 1 disc. Sounds to me like they're desperate to make money. Wouldn't be surprised if they close their doors soon

In my hmv the other day I saw an unsealed avengers with a bit of sticky tape holding the card on it and it was all scratched...no cellophane in sight and more scratches on it than a netflix dvd.

There were only 4 Snow White Steels on display at HMV this morning and one had a HUGE dent on the front. I may go back tomorrow to take pictures, it was that bad.

Mine came today, and I will say this-It's a really nice Steelbook (If a little pricey) Glad I splashed out on it though.

A complete joke of a company .... looked online yesterday and noticed the steelbook was £21 and collector's box £28 but the click n collect button was not armed due to it being a monday release so could not reserve the item for collection today.
Went on this morning to do the click n collect for the collectors box set and it had increased to £35 overnight and the normal steelbook to £28

If they go bust they have no one to blame but themselves they are complete modern day DICK TURPIN's without a mask

Yeah it's disgusting, can't believe this is now the online price as well? There magazine ads always state that the prices instore may vary from those online but to up the price for both on day of release is wrong! Their exclusive amaray with the art cards was only £15, just because it's not an HMV exclusive steelbook and because they have the monopoly on the highstreet they think they can charge what they like? Makes me really hate HMV, and I hope they go down the pan to be honest!!

GO TO JAIL CARD FOR YOU HMV, DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT £500!!!

If HMV go under I couldn't care less. Play.com would pick up their exclusives (or maybe even Amazon would enter the exclusive market) and make better Steelbooks. They would arrive in mint condition, before release date and not be ridiculously overpriced.

I actually think its a shame as i used to really like HMV and get most of my stuff from there. There packaging although not perfect was better than most other places. Now off course the other retailers have stepped up their game and HMV seem to be going backwards. I hope they don't go under but they do need to sort out their pricing strategy and fast!

I agree.

I don't want to see them go under, but they must become competitive with regards to pricing. When it comes to packaging: I've only ever bought 2 Steels from them online and they both arrived in mint condition, but a little bubble wrap around the Steel, or something at either end to stop the movement inside the box, would go a long way for those that prefer to shop online or can't make it to a store.

I will remain loyal to HMV and continue to buy my Steels and CD's in my local store, as I have done for a long time now. Unfortunately today, the difference in price was too much to ignore,and I was forced to buy elsewhere.

My Snow White & The Huntsman Collector's Set has just turned up and it's bigger and a lot better than I thought.

The box is slightly bigger than A4. The book & 4 stills are really good quality and A4 in size.

The 4 lithographs are also A4 and very nice quality, quite thick and on textured paper.

The poster is huge about 85cm by 60cm,

The steelbook is unsealed though.

Great bargain for £17.99, thanks to Henke007 for the find
