That's true. I think what kimchi does is to cancel your whole order, put them back in stock, and reorder for you the ones that you want. But you risk losing your type B and C once they go back in stock, cuz someone else may grab them fast.

Safer to keep your whole order, it's not that much if you average out the shipping cost. I canceled mine cuz I have to pay $32 for shipping the type A alone.

will probably cancel A as I doubt this will ever get through customs!!!

you may find down the line that once people have actually seen the film it will go for less & may not be as much of a grail as people are making it out to be now-I mean, can you really say this is collectable as Frozen or Tangled? Rush even?

Mr. Choi told me that Kimchi's system cannot modify orders. If it's still in stock they will be able to cancel the order and replace a new one with the one excluded from the order that you didn't want !!!

but when it's OOS, if they cancel your order, they won't be able to reselect the ones you wanted to keep. so because it's OOS if they cancel the order I would lose the ones I still want so I guess I got caught up in the moment and will have to keep the one I had changed my mind but maybe it's not a bad thing. It's still a stunning Box.

Thanks for that, last time I managed to cancel part of the order but it looks like it may have changed then. You wouldn't want to risk losing the whole order so I guess you are better off not trying to cancel!

Possibly not, but I'd rather watch this than any of those other 3.

I agree 100% with your post. I would be surprised if this holds its value over time.

I'd choose Rush any day of the week over this, but that's what's great about this hobby. Everyone has their own likes and preferences. It would be quite boring if everyone liked all of the same movies/steels.

This one will join the ranks of Asian steels that are selling for less than cost after this initial hype has died down. I enjoyed the film but many of my friends hated it. It's a niche movie that's being hyped in some places at present but will be quickly forgotten outside South Korea by most people within a year at most.

That being said I still wouldn't buy it. :)

It's a "Kimchi Exclusive" and limited to 666 of each version. So although I don't ever see it as a grail. I would be very surprised if it did not hold it's value. Plus most collectors who have bought this will never open it. But want it to add to their Kimchi collection.
Frozen is Disney, that's a totally different ball game altogether. And Rush different again.
Just because some might think it's not a great film does not mean it will not still be highly collectable......;)

Just my opinion though!

I collect lot of steelbook I open every one of them
I wont ever waste my hard earned cash on any steelbook to keep it sealed

I understand people buying and keeping sealed for trade purpose or to sell which is something I don't do either

Why would anyone buy something to keep sealed and never trade or sell as keeping it sealed it then has no value at all if its just on a shelf never opened you cant even enjoy its contents or all of the artwork
I don't get that but I do respect peoples choice to do whatever they want with their money even if its something I wont do myself I always open my steelbooks

I buy Steelbooks for it contents as in the Film and extras and enjoy the artwork fully by opening the steelbook

Paul this argument has been brung up time and time again and answered countless times.

It's just a case of each to their own.

Each collector is different and I have come to respect that

I did say.....MOST NOT ALL!! :hilarious:

And I am one of the rare breed who will be opening this. As I did with The Pianist, and will be doing with Rush (Full Slip).....:p

Back on topic....

I am very excited to get my hands on this. And I bet it will look amazing in all it's unwrapped nakedness when it arrives......:D

I think certainly this steelbook would hold above its cost. But whether it would hold its inflated value would depend ultimately on how many end collectors open up their copy to enjoy the whole package and treasure for good. Cuz as long as there are copies that stay sealed, tastes might change, circumstances might change, the sealed copies would keep coming back into the market.

But what I am trying to understand is why Rush lenticular, which has 2,500 copies in comparison, seems to command such a high value. I'm very ignorant on it and has posted the question there. Hope someone could enlighten me.

With each exclusive at a print run of 666 and numbered. I would say that is highly unlikely. You might see some failed auctions, but nobody is going to willingly sell their lenticular or full slip at a loss.

People keep all sorts of collectables and keep sealed or dont use, its not just steelbooks. People collect cars and dont drive them they spend hundreds of thousands, people collect unused stamps, Toys, Training shoes (sneakers) just about anything and if its mint and sealed with original packaging its more sort after. Steelbooks are no different from any other collectable. ;)
