Numbered editions are nice for highly sought after titles with low print runs like Thor, Rush or Frozen, but the French steel will do just fine for this title. I couldn't care less for a limited edition, numbered card for a release such as this, and I'm sure I'm not alone. To each his/her own, but I don't see the appeal of this release unless you're a completist that feels the need to keep the Kimchi collection whole and in tact.

Aren't you and me and all of us here random people? Everyone gets a chance. I think it is more fare this way.

I prefer to have no notifications whatsoever. Kind of equalizes the chances for everybody.

I completey disagree. I set alarms, changed my plans that night, logged in 30 min early, stressed, and then spent almost 15 minutes trying earnestly to get an order in, only to be shafted by pathetic excuse for internet servers.

so to have the cancelled lenticulars go live again at a "random time" with no notification and allow people to just "happen upon" the live listing on kimchidvd's site while the servers are totally freed up is beyond unfair to many of us that endured the crazy process I described above.

I am a loyal repeat buyer that has spent many hundreds of dollars on kimchi and am constantly trumpeting the awesomeness of these releases here and elsewhere, yet I couldnt even get 1 copy out of 666 even though I had my finger on the trigger at the precise moment of go live time. sorry but something's very wrong with that and I call foul.

Missing out on a Kimchi Exclusive IS probably the worst thing that can happen in life. And what's worse is after release, there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to get a copy. I wish there was a place I could go that people would offer them for sale or trade post release. Why hasn't someone thought of this by now?! UGH! Damn all these great, original ideas I have that I don't have the means of bringing to fruition!!!

Can sympathesize with you, Jimmy.

I've decided a while ago that it's not worth it anymore. All these stress, frustration and time spent, not to mention the amount of money, just to get hold of a copy is just ridiculous. Too many people are going after steelbooks not cuz they like the steelbook or the movie, but just cuz it's a limited number.

I agree it's a pain if you miss out on a release you really want and will happen to all of us at some stage but it's not the end of the world
But I don't think it's the worst thing that can happen in life missing out on a Steelbook release
You will always be able at some stage get this or a better release in the future

There are more important things in life like your health or family's health

Think maybe you should read mlmaier84's post again with a view to appreciating the 'ironic' tone. ;)

THANK YOU!!!!! My neck is starting to hurt from shaking my head so much...

You are quite ferret-like. A little steelbook-obtaining ninja ferret...

I know you were been Ironic but there are some who do let it take over their life's collecting and that's why it's more important your health

I've seen it happen with a lot of collectors
That's not ironic
I have worked in the business for long time as a buyer and I've seen some let it take control of their life's

I totally agree with you there, buddy. You're 100% correct. I was just trying to make light of that fact in hopes that others would realize it's just not that serious of an issue. I meant no harm by what I said. It really sucks missing out on the preorder price and confirmation that you have a copy. But there are plenty of ways to obtain a copy after release if you missed out. I'm one of the unlucky MANY who missed out. But I was very diligent about looking around to find a copy, and I was successful. No, unfortunately I will not get the same price as those who were able to preorder, but I wanted the steelbook enough to pay the price that I'm going to be forced to pay.

My outlook is this...you win some, you lose some. Some preorders I've had absolutely no issues with and some I have. If I miss out and want it badly enough, there are plenty of ways to find it.

Sup Ninjas!

I'm super excited about this release! At the time of pre order, this film held a score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes...

Now it's 94% fresh!

Me & My Girlfriend are gunna go catch it on the big screen on opening day. Anyway, super excited! Hell yeah! Can't wait!

I have a Lenti stuck at "receipt of order" , so Im trying to get that sorted out.

But Ive got a The Box Set and The Full slip paid for and I can't wait to get them! Ill have to have them in hand to see which In going to open. In guessing Ill open the Big box set!

I'll admit up front that I've not read through all 64 pages of comments on this thread, so it might have been answered in here somewhere...I'm wondering if anyone knows if the steelbook is embossed. This artwork really demands it, but I hate to assume that it is based on the look of the picture.

Is Snowpiercer Exclusive gonna be manufactured by Scanavo Denmark ?

AlamoSoul mentioned that there is a Scanavo in China but it produces lesser quality steels.

Which one did Kimchi used on This release ?

Wats Up, my Ninjas?!

Im getting pretty pumped up about this release! I've finally managed to secure myself Type A, B, and C. What a relief! Bases covered!

The Rotten Tomato Score is currently at 89% fresh. Im going to see this on the Silver screen as soon as it hits theaters. Im sure it will be a BLAST!
Anyway, Happy Day!

Yeah..IGN gave this a 9.2 out of 10 and I'm pretty upset I passed on this. I may settle for just the steelbook which is better than nothing..lol

Ordered just the plain steelbook, best bet for me now~

I did read on here a while ago that Blufans source locally resulting in a more lightweight SB, Some would say inferior to the rest of the world. Owning a few Blufans they aren't as heavy in hand as some of the ones released by Kimchi and others.

Not sure where Kimchi source from but they always feel weighty and better quality than Blufans their main rival. :D
