Even at 148 minutes It's the longest Bond film ever - closely followed by "Casino Royale" (144 mins.), "Skyfall" (143 mins.) and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (142 mins.).

(That's small potatoes when compared to the epics with some well-known and not so well-known examples:- "Heaven's Gate" (325 / 217 mins.), "Once upon a Time in America (259 / 229 mins.), "Cleopatra" (251 / 192 mins.), "Gone With the Wind" (238 mins.), "Dances With Wolves" (236 / 181 mins.), "The Ten Commandments" (231 mins.), "Lawrence of Arabia" (227), "ben-Hur" (222 mins.), "The Last Emperor" (219 / 164 mins.), "Wyatt Earp" (212 / 190 mins.), "JFK" (206.), "Apocalypse Now" (redux) (203 mins.), "The Godfather: Part 2" (202 mins.), "King Kong" 2005 & "Dr. Zhivago" (200 mins.),"Spartacus" 197 mins.), "Ryan's Daughter" & "Schindler's List" & "Reds" (195 mins.), "Titanic" 1997 & "Kingdom of Heaven" (194 mins.), "Gandhi" (191 mins.), "The Green Mile" & "Nicholas and Alexandra" (189 mins.), "The Hateful Eight" (187 mins.), "Betty Blue" & "Barry Lyndon" (185 mins.), "Pearl Harbor" & "The Deer Hunter" (183 mins.), "El Cid" (182 mins.), "Fiddler on the Roof" (181 mins.), "The Wolf of Wall Street" (180 mins.), "Camelot" (179 mins.), "Mutiny on the Bounty" 1962 & "Braveheart" & "Casino" (178 mins.),"Around the World in 80 days" 1956 & "The Godfather" & "Once upon a Time in the West" (175 mins.), "The Sound of Music" (174 mins.), "Patton" & "The Great Escape" (172 mins.), "Quo Vadis" (171 mins.), "The Aviator" & "Heat" & "Scarface" 1983 & "the Thin Red Line" & "My Fair Lady" (170 mins.), "Saving Private Ryan" (169 mins.), "King of KIngs" (168 mins.), "Battle of the Bulge" & "The Alamo" (167 mins.) and so on)

The US version shows a run time of 150min Rated PG13 and the UK 148min Rated 12

I suspect that's down to the frame rate differences between PAL in Europe (25fps) and NTSC (30fps), rather than any cuts. However, although this is the case for standard definition I'm not sure whether this applies to Blu ray as well.

There shouldn't be frame rate differences between different region Blu ray releases as they all use 24p as standard I think?

Where did you get this information from?

There are four standard frame rates for Blu-ray: 24p, 23.976p, 50i and 59.94i (also 50p and 59.94p for 1280 x 720 content). Fortunately interlaced Blu-rays are quite rare.

PAL vs. NTSC doesn't apply to Blu-ray content at all.

Cancelled this in favour of the amaray from Zavvi. With 10% off preorders makes the amaray £13.50, while this underwhelming steel is £20. Sorry Amazon, no dice this time.
Might be worth keeping a close eye over the next few weeks on the Amazon Amaray pre-order price too in case it dips under 12 quid (which it might) as I'm sure you know they automatically adjust to the lowest price and don't need reminding ;) unlike you know who.
BTW, is a slipcover confirmed for this Amaray as the image on another site appears to be of a slipcover edition although there's no mention of a slipcover in the listing which there usually is when a slipcover is available (for the first pressing) ?

In the unlikely event you are Craig-less then his 4-BD film collection boxset is well-priced at the moment on Amazon (GBP 23.99).

If I'd bought the previous 9 SPECTRE related steelbooks and was a completist I'd be ordering this one if only because it matches the others spine-wise and all together I reckon they'lll make a nice little set. I didn't so I won't.

(After reading that part of the setting for this is the Mexican "Day of the Dead" (as well as the reminder of the undead/voodoo in Roger Moore's Bond in "Live and Let Die") and after watching a few classic zombie films recently ("Zombie Holocaust" 1980 and "Zombie Flesh Eaters 1 & 2 1979 & 1988) it came to mind that it would be fun for a Bond vs. zombies film to breath life (LOL) into both genres . . .
After all, we've had Cockneys, Pro-Wrestlers, Vampires and even Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies . . .).

Mines out for delivery today with amazon logistics !

Just been delivered and this has got to be the contender for worst steelbook of the year by a country mile !!!
No embossing or debossing , just a single embossed tiny bullet hole on the front and reverse.
Not worth taking pictures of it it's garbage ..... going straight back asap.
