It's got a thicker/wider spine.

So they don't look great lined up with 'normal' slips because they don't match.

They started doing it because steelbooks would start having more than two discs so they’d have to drop either the book or art cards. Instead they made it thicker and included more, larger art cards. Now they do XL even if there are less discs because they can do more and larger sized art cards.

IIRC the only non-XL releases as of late have been through their Black Barons project but even they are doing XL now too.

But those chunky monkey XLs will look beautiful. Especially in a set  you lil' maniac you.

sadly not for me, I’m a full slip MCU collector and with my ocd this will not look beautiful in my set at all and normal full slips are a rarity these days. Blufans do nice ones but with backwards artwork I try to stay clear of them. Filmarena I could rely on doing a nice slip but not anymore. I’m left with nova who rarely do any releases these days let alone MCU ones and kimchi/Weet who often do slim slips. It just sucks

Can someone please tell me whats different with an XL slip compared to a "normal" one?
FAC XL Slips spine width is 33mm
FAC Standard Slips spine width is 22mm

Artcards are in a collectible folder in Xl Slips
Standard Slips artcards are inside the steelbook

Standard FAC slip the artcards are smaller than what you get in XL Slips Folder

i dont see a problem if they're not taller than other slips.
Different strokes for different folks and all that. I actually don't mind either way and don't see it a big issue myself, but a lot of people don't like them for their own reasons.

Well the cost went up by about $12-18 for them as well which makes them almost $70 before shipping for some editions when you used to be able to get them for under $35
annnnnd, now i'll riot. i cancelled my WWA 3D/2D pre-order with them because shipping + i saw these coming + i got the same steelbook artwork from rahul in ~2 days time.

i know most of the extras are printed, stickers, etc but maybe they're raising the margin to get more revenue from the initial hype and curb(stomp) scalpers.

i'd still like an E5, maybe a double lenticular

The problem is when you've collected films from a series BEFORE FA introduced these damn XL slips.

Eg: the Terminator series. But T2 is XL compared to the rest.

Spiderman Homecoming wasn't XL but these are.....

You see the pattern now? I only purchase one edition of each film so when they mix XL slips into the series they start to look messy on your shelf...

FA had to NOT do an XL slip for the last Jurassic Park film for consistency. I don't know why they won't do it to all series who didn't start off in XL slips :(
