Hmm think I'll wait to see what Amazon sell it for now then... hopefully they can match Base's price.

£15 seems more like the right price seeing how quite a few Quadriogies normally sell @ £20 like Play.com's Alien set

....think i paid £20 delivered 2 UK 4 my German edition of this.

Anyway I think this will be a no effort straight re-print of the DE edition, which unlike Kill Bill was an excellent release to begin with.....

Unecessary & too late overall, zavvi. Most will have already imported, while english discs here mean nothing as we are all used 2 swapping out foreign discs on imports :movie:

Surprised Zavvi took this route. It's a lot easier on the consumers pockets sure.

Would be more realistic of them to release each individual title for about £14.99 each. Come to think of it I'd love a Spider-man steelbook just for the first movie.

Looks like it might have no title on the front unless its hiding under the datasheet, Which would be nice along with a gloss finish and decent back artwork

Reactions: Bluprint
Never liked the new elevator scene.

I never liked the 2.1 version. I felt the Extended scenes went on for way too long and saw why exactly they were shortened.

But hey, better to have both choices on the Blu then just the 1 on the 2.1 DVD.
2.1 was just a cash-grab, per Raimi himself:

"I mean, the movie really was the best I could make it. It's not like I think I could make it better. But I said, 'OK, well, if you want to spend money and really give the kids a few more action scenes, OK, that's fine.' It's the kids' choice if they want to spend that money. And then I think it's fair."

Though he's enthusiastic about the new material, Raimi admitted that the studio's decision to release two versions was mainly financially motivated. "It's just a financial decision by the studio," he said. "They know the people who like the second movie would want to own it as it is on DVD. And then it's just a gamble. 'Oh, if we spend another $4 million can we make another $10 million?' I think that's how it works with them. I'm assuming that's what it is."
So I wouldn't worry about 2.1 in any capacity. I've owned it this whole time and have never bothered to watch it, simply because of what he says above.

Well if the artwork is correct the German has the title across the cover.
Ahhhhhhhh, you're right, good catch. Dare I say this one could be better if that ends up being the case...

The German version I've got doesn't have a title on the front, just has Spider-Man on the spine. Nothing about trilogy so maybe it is a straight reprint?

I don't think this is a mock up as it the same artwork as the UK Amaray Trilogy Boxset which was on sale for as low as 7.99 at Play.com long time back.

The spec of the UK release is better than the German release which doesn't feature lossless audio in English.

The german trilogy i have have has 'spiderman' in the centre of the front.

Its a awesome steelbook and i would only buy this if its gloss, and it the back and inner artwork is different which i doubt.
