Interesting video for anyone keen on Kubrick movies. He was apparently known as a perfectionist, and very keen on symmetry in his framing. This is shown in clips from 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Barry Lyndon & A Clockwork Orange. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting Martin. I'm a huge Kubrick fan and I think his films are all amazing to look at. He was a visual genius. He was a photographer at an early age so I think that has a lot to do with it! He was certainly a perfectionist and was known to shoot more than 50 takes of each scene! His films also had very long shooting times which regularly went on longer than expected. I believe The Shining took just over a year to film which was much longer than it should have done. Constant re-takes and changes to the script were all a factor as Kubrick searched for perfection. I believe it worked though as for me The Shining is the greatest horror film ever made!:)

Yep, didn't mind how long it took for him to finally produce something either. It always was well worth it. I'm sad he passed before A.I., it would have been an incredible work if he was involved.:(
